Borgo Santa Croce 21, Florence, Italy, 50122

Serves meat, vegan options available. A very typical local restaurant offers many vegan choices. The owner's daughter is vegan, so they added vegan food on the menu, including antipasti, mozzarella, salami, calzone, dessert and more. Has one other location as of Feb 2017. Open Tue-Sun 10:30am-11:30pm.

best pizza in Italy! - Edit

Great location. One street from church of Santa Croce and short walk from Piazza Michelangelo. I would definitely give this place 5 stars if HappyCow allowed non-veg places to get that score.

We ordered the cheese and salami platter to share and it was the best thing I've ever tasted. I think they use vegusto cheese and it has a spicy/sweet sauce alongside that was fantastic. We tried to eat it as slow as possible to savour that flavour! We also received some complimentary bread.

I had the vegan cheese margarita which blew my mind. I hate fresh tomato so the relief when I saw the tomato sauce/cheese combo was immense. It was perfect in every way. My partner had the vegan calzone and said it was great as well.

We got a slice of vegan desert to take away and ate later which wasn't so good but the appetiser and main exceeded any expectation we had so it didn't matter.

The staff were lovely and happy to speak to us in English. Plus drinks for around €40.

Pros: so many options

Cons: desert was a little underwhelming

Vegan Options - Edit

We didn't go the restaurant but ordered online using deliveroo. Delivery came on time. We got a vegan pizza each and a shared vegan coccoli e nutella, which is like a fried doughnut. My pizza was ok, just ordered a vegan margherita, not a cheese I had tried before but it was fine. I think because we got delivery the base had got a little more chewy than I would have liked. I tried the coccoli but only an hour later as I wasn't hungry enough first time. The flavour was nice but again I should have tried these fresh as by the time I had them they were very very chewy and not soft at all.

Pros: Lots of options, Delivers online

Cons: Dough is chewy

A must-go for vegans in Florence! - Edit

A little weird to find as the map shows it slightly farther down the road. No biggie. Very excited to see so many vegan options at a place that seems like such an authentic Italian restaurant. Menu has English translations. Staff speaks English.

We got the bruschetta and polenta apps and enjoyed them both. The bruschetta had tons of flavor. The polenta was a bit salty, but still good. We also had the vegan calzone and vegetable pizza with vegan mozzarella. Again, both were great! Wish the pizza had tomato sauce and was pre-cut, but I guess that's the Italian style? The calzone was HUGE and extremely tasty.

We ended with dessert...basically a doughnut with sugar and chocolate sauce. It was pretty good, but also a little too salty. Also, by that point we already had so much bread we were about to explode.

Total price: €35. Very reasonable. Would have been full and satisfied with just the pizza and calzone.

Highly recommended for vegans visiting Florence!

the best choice for vegans in Florence! - Edit

I'm really glad I discovered this restaurant here. If you want something very tipical Italian and you're vegan this is a must. The owner is very friendly and knows about veganism. Vegan and vegetarian are clearly labelled on the menu. The vegan cheese they use is amazing! I even bought some to bring home. The also offer a vegan cheese plate as a starter.

Pros: very good quality food, traditional food, many vegan options

Cons: closed on Mondays
