A sanctuary indeed

The previous review described Scisters as a sanctuary. It really is. I’ve fallen in love with the salon after going just once. I want to say that it has a peaceful, new age vibe. As you enter the salon, the right side is the stylists’ space; to the left are the bulk shampoos, conditioners and oils, face creams, and homemade scented candles. There’s even a cute bookshelf for take one/ leave one. The room at the very back is the most magical spot. It’s where they wash your hair, and it feels like a lovely, quiet spa. My stylist, Katherine, didn’t just wash and condition my hair. I think it would be more accurate to say that she gave my hair and scalp TLC. It was really something special.

All the stylists are vegans, so I felt safe and relaxed there. Being at a salon usually means small talk and at some point having to hear people talk about eating meat. Not here. Katherine asked me how I heard about the salon. I told her, HappyCow. “Don’t we all live by HappyCow?,” she replied. We talked about vegan cooking hacks and she told me about a new vegan Jewish deli in the College area (Ben and Esther’s).

I can’t wait for my pixie to grow out, so I can go back. 💛💛💛
