CLOSED

Today we drove by the address and called the number associated with the restaurant, and it appears the restaurant has gone out of business and the number now belongs to someone else.

Fresh and wonderful spread

I choose this vegan eatery for my birthday meal and I was not disappointed. Tucked away in the community, this vegan cafe clearly supports the vegan ideology by supporting animals and the community. Friendly and excellent service, I support what others have said about this place. I will be back tomorrow!

Pros: Fresh And healthy produce, Excellent flavours and tastes combined, Exceptional value for money

Cons: None yet to report

Authentic and charming

Tasty and local food, friendly staff and quirky dishes and cups. Set menu. We had a chickpea soup, large salad, tortillas with avocado sauce and caramelised apple dessert plus a fresh fruit tea - all for 55pesos! Incredible! Well worth the walk out of town :)

I cannot describe in words

Guys I came here three days IN A ROW.

Good thing it's a walk outta town or I'd be so fat. And it means it's a well-kept secret.

Actually gutted to leave Oaxaca because of this place. Maybe the best vegan restaurant of all time? So much love and passion put into every last detail, and probably the healthiest-full you can feel. Served on the cutest ceramic clay crockery. Everything is fresh fresh fresh.

Each day I came after 2pm when they serve the daily menu for 55 pesos which is less than a London coffee. But what they serve up is gourmet and exquisitely presented. A soup, a main, a tisane and condiments (I think I put too many pickles on my tostadas the first day 😂) followed up by a dessert. The carrot cake dessert on my last day was actually f🔥king divine. And the mango coconut quinoa mousse on my first day was worth calling my mum about.

Not to mention the INCREDIBLE service. Although the place is a small, family-run affair, the love is big. The lady who runs the place is a sweetheart and her smile is infectious. A lot of vegan places these days have become faux-wellness, or try-hard trend sheep (this can be found in central Oaxaca). This place is legit. It's OG.

Get your ass out of town, stop by on the way back from Mitla, whatever, just get down to this place stat. You won't regret it.

Pros: Absolutely [censored] everything

Cons: Absolutely [censored] all

best vegan in Oaxaca!

This may be the only completely vegan cafe/restaurant in Oaxaca. The service is excellent, and the food is worth coming back again and again. The prices are dirt cheap as well. My partner and I were completely satisfied, and spent less than 200 pesos total!

Pros: Excellent authentic food, breezy atmosphere, Great value.

Cons: Mostly spanish spoken

Delicious, filling, and affordable vegan food!

This was worth the 1.5 mile walk!! From 2-6pm they offer full meals, which include a soup, drink, main dish, and dessert (all vegan). It was all very light but filling - and for only 55 pesos! They are going to move locations, so I will update when I find it. Definitely come here!

Pros: price, tasty desserts, very filling

Cons: far from the center of the city

So Great!

Very cute little restaurant. Staff were very helpful. Our waiter spoke English. We tried the burgers, a green juice, a ginger like juice, and an unfried taquito. Everything is fresh, healthy and inexpensive. The breakfast until two pm has the choices above-mentioned and others. After two pm, soups and a more extensive menu is available.

Great food, warm service, exceptional value

Schizandra offers what might the healthiest food in Oaxaca City, and fortunately not at the expense of flavor, which was great.

I was greeted with a warm welcome. There's no printed menu, but the server explained the options to me. I started with a fresh green juice and then followed with a tostado, which was deliciously flavorful and filling without being heavy (no doubt thanks in part to their practice of minimizing fats). For this I paid a grand total of 37 pesos, which makes Schizandra an outstanding value, especially considering the high quality.

The atmosphere is very relaxed, and there were only locals eating there during my visit.

They're also ecologically conscious, which is a big plus.

Schizandra is easily the best all-vegetarian option in town (as of December 2017), and I highly recommended it for vegans, vegetarians, health-conscious diners, and anyone looking for authentic local flavor.

Enjoy!

Pros: Great flavor and healthy, too, warm service and very low prices, ecologically conscious
