At HappyCow I saw the restaurant Sawasdee. Because I love Thai food, I looked a few times if I could find it. Unfortunately, I did not see the name of the restaurant at the given address. I did see a German beer bar/ restaurant called Bavaria. When I looked online I only saw German (meat) dishes. When I read the reviews at home, apparently Bavaria and Sawasdee are still active and the restaurant has two menus... This is not mentioned anywhere on the menu or website of Bavaria. Sawasdee still has a website with a menu with Thai dishes. Strange story. Maybe next time.
This is a wonderful German Food and Beer Restaurant called Bavaria that has a separate Thai Food menu, which has vegan options. It's located in a strip mall off Rt3 at the traffic light intersection past the shopping area. We enjoyed the german decor/music and beer hall ambiance. The German Food menu looked very authentic but unf had no vegan options we could find. Their HUGE beer selection will not disappoint the craftiest of drinkers in your party.
We ordered the lemon coconut soup (almost a meal by itself), spring rolls, red curry tofu, and bangkok noodles with mock duck. All were delicious, big portions. All were vegan without modification. We did ask if it contained any oyster sauce or eggs and they did not.
The people were great, very friendly, really accomodating, communicated well and really made us feel welcome. May not be as good as your local, authentic Thai restaurant back home, so I couldn't quite give this place 4 stars, but still I highly recommend this place, especially if you are in the mood for Thai or just want some good/craft/German beers.
This was such an interesting place! It is a Thai restaurant within a German restaurant that is run by Germans. I am not sure about the vegan options for the German menu, but the Thai one was very flexible- the mock duck and the tofu were great. It was great to eat Thai surrounded by cuckoo clocks and German music. They also had a huge beer selection. This place was so good we ate there twice!

Tasty Thai - Edit
Some good Thai vegan options in the midst of a German style restaurant recently renamed Bavaria.
