As for the menu, I was blown away. Sav is from Guinea. I've never had West African food but now I'm hooked. Get the fufu! It's made from plantain powder. Tastes like mashed potatoes but better in my opinion. Fluffy yumminess.
So many vegan options! I had the Maken Vegan which was like a vegetable stew. Delicious. The fried plantains were outstanding.
Three vegan sorbets. The hibiscus was great.
If you like ginger, u must get the ginger drink! Keep in mind I drink my tequila straight so I'm not afraid of a little fire lol. This was the strongest ginger drink I've had in my life! It was cool to try it. You can always add water if it packs too much of a punch for you.

I’ll really miss this place - Edit
Since I moved to Lexington a few years ago, Sav’s has become one of my all-time favorite restaurants. I’m sad it’s closing so soon. I guess it’s not a particularly good time to write a review, but I felt like I had to express my love for the place. Their vegan options were absolutely fantastic and well-thought-out (I’ve gone with omnis and, after tasting mine, had them prefer the vegan stews), and Sav himself is an awesome guy. If you can, get in there before they close on the 27th.

I used to go there constantly when I was at UKY. It was in walking distance and whenever I needed a smile, a chill environment, and great food, I would head to Sav’s. The fufu and mafen veg are so yum!

Wow. If I could give this a 5 I would. The vegan options were so freaking amazing. I had no idea how similar to Central American food African food was. I swear it reminded me of some delicious dish my grandmother used to make me. If you’re in town, it’s a must.

We were passing through Lexington and decided to try Sav's. Absolutely incredible food and atmosphere! Many vegan options and knowledgeable staff. The peanut vegan dish and BeeSop sorbet were delicious! Definitely worth a visit!

Sav himself is a delight and that’s just one of the many many reasons to love this restaurant. Multiple choices of delicious vegan stews served over fufu or rice. It’s home cooking that fills your heart.
