Just grabbed a buffalo chicken pizza and a bunch of the takeout cold cuts that are surprisingly not seitan-based and everything was delicious. I've enjoyed their vibs in the past and my sister loves their mac n cheese. However they've announced they're closing permanently after August 2nd. Please go support them in their final week!!!

It was a 90min drove for me, but it was worth it. The owner is extremely friendly! I should have taken a selfie with her. I was excited to eat something there and also get items to take home. I had the vegan ribs over fries while my to-go order was being prepared. I took home buffalo wingz, a Trenton Burger, some cold cuts, and a cold 2-pack of vibs. I definitely recommend this establishment and will definitely go there again.

I’ve been going here once a week for a few weeks now and have tried a variety of their menu items, and nothing has disappointed me! Their food is flavorful and the prices are modest, especially for a vegan restaurant. I would be willing to pay more to support an all-vegan place. Definitely give them a try!

The food we got was good. I got the BLT and my husband got the roast beef sandwich. The staff was really nice. Not much seating, so if you go when it's busy that could be an issue I guess.

Regular spot for my mom and I (I think it’s what converted her to accepting and even enjoying my vegan lifestyle!). The food is delicious. I love the new addition of the chicken sandwiches and salads.

I'm a big fan of Savory Leaf Cafe in general and have tried most of the items on the menu.
Read moreI like that a lot of the faux meats are homemade and that there are multiple burger patty options (I don't find Beyond meat to be edible and most places have only Beyond Burgers these days).
The reuben sandwich is one of the best I've had - definitely the most flavorful "meat".
There are some small things I'd change to make this a contender for top vegan sandwich shop in the region that are mostly related to my personal preferences. For reference, the frontrunner for me in the vegan sandwich rankings right now is Boardwalk Vegan an hour away.
While I've gotten used to it, the cheese sauce is a bit sweet and not as tangy as I'd like.
I miss wiz kid cheesesteak and I compare everything to that now, so for me, I'd like the cheesesteak seitan to have more browning and not just be chunks of seitan.
I would like if there was a way to remove mustard in the online ordering and also order sides of pickles and hot peppers.
The raw onions have been weird lately - not sure if they're pickled or just limp. I think leaf lettuce or even iceberg (I'm a traditional shredded lettuce tomato onion redwinevinegar&oil hoagie fan) would be better than fancy mixed greens on most sandwiches.
These are super minor things that not everyone would agree on or care about.
Overall, I've been super happy to have such a great vegan sandwich shop at the Trenton Farmers Market.

We order from here almost every Saturday! I always get the sausage, egg, & cheese bc it's so good but we also love the tempeh bacon sandwich, crispy buffalo chicken sandwich, the farmers market burger (the one that's their homemade patty instead of the impossible burger), mac&cheese and cheese fries (with violife instead of daiya which is a huge plus!) Everything is so good you really can't go wrong. Not "vegan health food" but doesn't weigh you down either! :)

Fabulous and Fun Vegan Menu - Edit
Love Savory Leaf Cafe. I could eat the Veuben and cheese fries several days a week. Great selection of bar and grill kind of options—cheesesteak, burgers. Delivery has been great, they package the food very well so it stays hot. The prices are reasonable, too.

I’m NOT entirely certain the guy heard my order correctly, but he may have and instead chose to be generous lol. I ordered a Cheesesteak & Banana Walnut Bread. My order came with a Cheesesteak, x2 banana walnut bread, and a side order of fries. Pretty sure I didn’t have to pay for the extra stuff either, I’m very grateful. The food was not anything to die for but that is mostly because they use ‘impossible meat’ for their vegan meat dishes, and I am not a fan of impossible. All things considered however I had to give them a 5 star. They are working with some odd hours since they’re inside a farmers market and donMt have an actual shop or cafe location to visit.

Fantastic comfort food - Edit
Most vegan places around the area focus on being as “vegan” as possible. Meaning lots of Whole Foods, raw foods, and fancy presentation. That’s great and all, but sometimes your soul just needs to be comforted by hot and heavy comfort food. Savory leaf has everything it takes to do just that.

Vegan Fast Food at the Farmer's Market - Edit
We have been coming to this place a few times a year when we stop at the Trenton Farmer's Market. On a recent visit, we had the cheesesteak, cowboy burger, breakfast sandwich, and fries. It is a treat to be able to get fast food that is all vegan and have fries that haven't been cooked with meat. There are a few tables and chairs nearby to eat or you can make your car smell delicious by driving it home.
Read moreIt is worth a stroll around the rest of the market for the Jersey fresh produce and some other vegan products offered by various vendors. During our May visit we enjoyed fresh strawberries for dessert after chowing down on our Savory Leaf lunch.

Lovely Vegan Surprise @ Trenton Farmer's Market - Edit
This stand at the end of the farmer's market offers some delicious vegan sandwiches and soups. We had a yummy All Day Breakfast sandwich (w/ vegan cheese and egg), roasted veggie soup, and a Buffalo Chick'n Sandwich - all were very satisfying. The staff were super friendly as well - a great find!

They have a diverse menu that has a ton of offerings you don’t find anywhere else. My goal is to keep going back until I’ve had everything on the menu. My mouth is watering just thinking about how tasty all the seasoning sauces were. It’s everything you’d want from a vegan grill and the staff was so friendly. I can’t wait to go back.

I got the Violife (!) mac and cheese and tried the ribs today. The food was incredibly filling and delicious. They are understated and small but they know how to make some GOOD food. Whoever made the menu was clearly a knowledgeable vegan and has great taste. I would expect this quality from high price restaurants, but it was very affordable for the items they offer. Serving size seemed small at first but the food was so satisfying I was full before finishing my baked macaroni... and kept going anyway.
Read moreI got a chocolate cupcake because I was craving chocolate, and couldn't have been happier with it. I'm in heaven and satiated after a few bites. The other pastries looked incredibly high quality and I can't wait to try more of them.
My only complaint is that they didn't prompt me for a tip on the card and I wanted to give them more of my money!! Would have given at least 25% for how awesome my first time was.

We love the Savory Leaf. We visit every Saturday for breakfast and love their lunch items, too. The tofu chorizo scramble they serve for breakfast on Saturdays is so good. For lunch, the Cuban and the Veuben are both delicious. They are always so friendly and my toddler daughter could eat the breakfast potatoes for every meal if we let her.

The best comfort food around. My favorites are the cheesesteak and the veuben, they are a must! In addition they have yummy sweet tooth treats such as cookies and brownies. Staff is very warm and welcoming. Will definitely be back!
