Satchel’s is a great place to being out-of-towners. It’s just a fun and interesting atmosphere embedded into the local reuse culture. The food is good. They are very accommodating with vegan options. Their gluten free pie is also vegan. The service is incredibly warm and inviting.

This place is definitely a recommendation I give to those who want to see the uniqueness of Gainesville. So first off, great vibes with cute seating locations and a little Knick knack shop. Though also the food here is addicting with great vegan options. There are two different vegan cheeses available and different vegan toppings including vegan sausage. I shared a vegan pizza with another person-so definitely great portions for price. Also you can try their in-house made soda which is unique! I can’t recommend this fun spot enough

Great place to enjoy! We loved all the art on the walls and the option to eat in a van or airplane. Call ahead the night before if you want the pan pizza without a butter crust

The pizza is pretty good. It’s more about the eclecticism and that it’s been around forever. [censored] is great. Pesto on gluten free is not recommended go with tomato.

The staff is knowledgable about what is vegan and what isn't on the menu (i.e. salad dressings, etc) and are very friendly.
It's cash only (atm on site), dog-friendly and they have outside seating. Can get busy at times, but it's a cool place to hang out at, so the wait isn't a big deal.
We stop here every time we're in town. If you're in Gainesville, go try it out!

Read moreThey have Daiya and Teese vegan cheeses which are fantastic. all pizza crusts are vegan except for the deep dish. The salads are loaded with variety and the Lola Cola makes Mexican Coke look like toilet water. They have outdoor seating and it's dog friendly, they will bring your pups a bowl of water. They are cash only but the ATM on site charges a 1.50 fee that goes directly to local charity.
Seriously if you go anywhere else for pizza you're a Communist.

Every time I've been to Satchel's I have been completely floored by how AWESOME it is! The service is amazing, the food is phenomenal, and you're completely surrounded by this warm homey feeling... It's decorated with amazing local art, and there is a cute little shoppe of nicknacks in the back! Satchel's fits the essence of Gainesville, and you cannot miss it if you're visiting or a local!

I heard there was a fire. But get this--I heard that customers actually chipped in to renovate the place! Amazing. Anyway, I have never even been there. But no one who has lived in this area has not heard of the legendary Satchels. I know a sadhu who knows the owner. He says the owner is a fairly enlightened person. Jaya Radhe!
