idly and dosa - Edit

Place is clean and food cooked fresh. Ienjoyed warm fluffy sambar idly , crispy masala dosa and Channa batura.
This place gets busy and there may be a wait for the tables. Food is ordered and paid for via smartphone.
This is a vegetarian place, so be sure not to order anything with ghee (clarified butter), paneer (similar to cottage cheese) or curds (yoghurt) if you’re vegan.

Definitely not the best saravan bhavan - Edit

The food was ok. But served on paper plates looking like a soup kitchen with zero love from the staff.
Then we were leaving and the staff member was standing idle at the counter literally 3 metres from our table. He insisted that we empty the trays ourselves. Just felt like the least amount of love or effort possible.
Definitely won't go back.

Disappointing - Edit

Having visited Saravanaa Bhavan in Parramatta, we were pleased to see it close to the hotel where we were staying. After a huge day we arrived soon after opening to order take away. There was food in a bain marie and we didn't feel up to waiting for something to be made so pointed to a lentil/veg curry. But no, we couldn't have that without ordering through the app. I had to hand over the phone so that the waiter could identify it by name then order that way. Ridiculous! Then I had to register to pay by card through their app. It wouldn't recognise my phone number so I couldn't register. With the only option being we leave without buying, miraculously, we could pay by card the usual way.

The final insult was to get the food back to our room to find it so salty it was almost inedible.

Cons: far too salty, ridiculous reliance on technology
