Very flavourful

Ordered the 2 labelled vegan options, fava dip and the vegan bun (grilled veg burger) both were delicious and the bun was packed full of flavour. Owner was super friendly, would definitely return.

Accepts card payment

The Real McCoy

Three years ago I spent a week in a medium sized town in the flatlands west of Thessaloniki: no scenery, no beach, no tourists. I and my partner ate well and cheaply every night. The food in Sappho Meze is just like the food we ate in Alexandreia. No mistake, it's not what you'll get in Mykonos or Halkidiki, or in tavernas called the Mad Greek or whatever, but it is Greek food, and as such I loved every wholesome mouthful.

Pros: Real Greek food, very tasty, fresh and varied

Cons: Serves meat

Would not recommend

Set meze menu for all that is changed to suit vegans or vegetarians. Price is £14.50 per person. The food comes in two waves - the first being many side dishes, and the second being more complete main courses.

The inside was dark and old, and the restaurant is ran by a very old school Greek man who cooks and serves. He was friendly but mumbled a lot.

The food itself wasn’t tasty in my opinion. Of the many dishes nothing stood out as delicious, and some dishes had very strong strange tastes.

I have been travelling for a week, eating at vegan restaurants 2/3 times a day. This was by far the most expensive meal that me and my girlfriend shared (£44 for two beers and 2 set menus), and also the worst quality (in terms of both food/ambience). I would not recommend.

Cons: Expensive , Not tasty

Not bad

We were served food without knowing the menu. The food was served one by one, and the taste wasn’t bad, but wasn’t good... Staff guy were very friendly. And the price was more expensive than I thought.

Pros: friendly staff

amazing food!!

The food was absolutely amazing I had the vegetarian option.....no set menu you just wait to see what you're going to get, great idea. Good and friendly atmosphere and reasonably priced. Staff were very nice and attentive would def go again and recommend to all. Would have given 5 stars but it wouldn't let me.

Good for Vegetarians...

Interesting start. I asked for vegan and the guy told me to have vegetarian; he then told me that vegetarian was better for me as I'd get osteoporosis with vegan food... I wasn't sure what I'd get. He then made some spurious health claims about different foods as they arrived... I did get all vegan food in the end. The guy was great though; it was all meant in good jest so vegans will need to go in armed with a sense of humour.

The food was good, there was lots of it and it was great value at £12.50 for the numerous meze dishes.

Nice to have a Greek place on here, but there are other more vegan/veggie-centric options in the area.

Pros: Good food and lots of it, Great value, Funny owner (if not vegan-sensitive)

Good food

We ate here for my birthday this week. My partner and I are both vegan, and we got lots of vegetables and dips. We were served dessert which was yoghurt and honey. After we reminded them that we were vegan and we couldn't have the dessert, the man proceeded to tell us how good honey was for you. This made me feel quite guilty for sending it back. I'm just hoping the rest of the food we were served was vegan.
I would have been really happy if they had a vegan dessert option.

Pros: Vegan options, Friendly staff, Tasty food

Cons: 'Vegan' dessert is yoghurt and honey

Fantastic!

Friendly staff, fantastic food, vegan option advertised on the board. Works a bit differently; you sit down, they ask if you're veggie then put food in front of you, no choosing dishes here!

Pros: REAL Greek food, Good value, Homely atmoshpere

Cons: Need to make dietary status very clear, Don't seem to consider yoghurt as dairy

friendly and cheap

We ate here last wkd and loved it. They don't really have a menu instead there are 3 choices - meat, vegetarian or vegan. We chose vegan and they proceeded to bring us dish after dish of delish ! You will not leave here hungry ! ! It cost us £10.50 each for the food but be warned the beers are expensive at £5 each. Our waiter who we think was the owner was really funny and friendly. Pity they serve meat but I def recommend.

Pros: cheap, friendly, loads of great food

Cons: serves meat
