Nice find

Never would have found this without happy cow in all the windy pedestrian streets of Lugano. Food was ok. People very friendly but English somewhat limited.

Pros: All vegan, Quick , Friendly

Cons: Limited choices, Limited English , Cash only

Leckeres Essen

Verschiedene vegane Mittagessen, allerdings zehn Euro für einen Pappteller.

Pros: Viele vegane Optionen

Cons: Teuer und viel zu viel unnötiger Müll.

A good healthy option

Sapori Bio is a vegan cafe and small health food store sharing one space. The tables at which one can stand and eat are in the middle of the shop, but since the people are nice and the music well-chosen, we didn't mind this at all.

Food items are served from a display case and can be warmed up if you like. At least during all visit, all the food being served in the cafe was vegan. For our tastes, the food was good and satisfying if not consistently flavorful: we quite enjoyed the tofu-spinach quiche (eggless, of course) but we also had a wrap that was bland. The highlight for us was a heavenly chocolate dessert. There's a good selection of drinks, too.

Prices are reasonable considering the quality of the food and the location (a short walk from Lake Lugano).

Enjoy! :-)

Got great food & good service after lunch hours

I popped in here to fill my belly with delicious food and I got a nice filling bean salad, also drank an unusual but nice curry-carrot like tea, and cake. Food was good. Had a good chat with the lady working there about food and all sorts. Very alive feeling in the cafe - would recommend for a nice healthy lunch stop. Also there is a small shop attached and I needed some tahini so picked up some of that too.

Pros: Friendly, Healthy and tasty food

Happy lunch

I had a sort of wrap with cooked veggies and potatoes inside. Tasty. They have about 5 or 6 lunch choices on plates at the counter. You choose the one you want and they re-heat it. You stand to eat at one of the tables in the health food store. Small- to medium-sized portions. It's a place for a good lunch when you have little time.

Pros: Tasty food, friendly staff, not expensive

Cons: Small- to medium-sized portions

the locals like it too

Excellent. The locals pack Sapori Bio at lunch-hour, and are rewarded with light, wholesome food served with a smile, well, no, not with a smile: It's Switzerland after all. But the service IS friendly and cheerful.

It's a shame the building owner doesn't allow them to place a few tables outside in the back courtyard.

BTW - They now seem to take credit cards.

stand up lunch

The vegan shop/lunch cafe provides fast and friendly service with all dishes very healthy. It also provides a number of takeaway options (panini, etc) which was valuable given there were not really any vego/vegan places to eat in the evening.
There is a broad range of products available for purchase from the shop part of the business.
It was interesting to stand up while eating your meal. If you like your dishes really hot ask to have it heated a little longer.

Pros: friendly service, healthy food

The food is all the comfort

One of the best vegan restaurants I've ever been. Food is healthy, filling, light, tasty, it has an eye on italian and swiss cooking tradition ( black cabbage thicksoup , smashed potatoes on a lentil bed, seitan in imitation of tuna) on Maghreb ( vegetable cous-cous), China ( an excellent cantonese rice with spring roll), and excellent squeezed fruits ( " Winter fire" with hot pepper, cinnamon, pear, a piece of orange, banana, some bitter chocolate; " Goodbye virus" with orange, ginger, kiwi, banana, " Youth elisir" with one carrot, apple, orange, aloe vera, " Detox" with one carrot, beetroot, apple, lemon ...). The only - little- shadow is that you have to eat at a table with no chairs...But maybe they want you to understand that this food is good ( and so vegan) that there's no need to sit comfortably, because this food is all the comfort. They also have a small shop ( inside the same place) totally organic and mostly vegan ( there's honey in some sauces to spread, and vitamins must be checked with care, because they sell Omega3 from Fish Oil and the origin of Lactobacillus is not specified). Staff are very kind and helpful.
