CLOSED: Sapori Vegani

This was THE most flavorful food that I had during 3 weeks in Italy! Sooo delicious that I had to come back the same day for dinner too! I had many vegan lasagnes in Florence, but the ones here were so perfectly seasoned and bursting with flavor. Easily the best I have ever had. And the giant tortelloni was a revelation! Cheesecake was divine. The spinach pie was wonderful. And the owner was the most lovely, charming man!! This is a new business in a fabulous location...you will feel good about supporting it.

Sapori Vegani is a cozy little place where you can get fresh lasagna, other pastas, some nut cheeses, muffins, vegetables, and desserts. Food is priced by weight. The owner is a great guy and very friendly. The food is mostly for take away, though there are a couple small tables and a counter with chairs. I normally get some lasagna and take it home, or come down with my daughter for some dessert and chill-out time. Wine is available by the glass, and goes well with the food options. Some of the dishes have more oil in them than I use at home (or rather, I tend to not use any), but they are certainly tasty.

The pesto lasagna blew our minds with its depth of flavor! The lentil burger was soooo tasty! The person who took care of us was very attentive and charming.

You can tell how fresh the items are. As well as notice the love infused in the food!

It was quite an enjoyable experience. If we're ever in Fierenze again, we'll be sure to seek it out!

Opened in September 2015, this small cafe/ take away is a welcome alternative to the more traditional vegan food offered in the plentiful restaurants throughout the city.

Located right next to the fresh food market in Piazza Lorenzo Ghiberti, 700 metres north east of Piazza Santa Croce, Sapori Vegani has only vegan food. Dishes are paid for by weight and are reasonably priced. Cakes and cookies are also available.
