¡¡Holy Vegan Frijoles!!

“Are the beans made with lard?” “Is the rice made with chicken stock?” “Are the chip fried lard?” We vegans always have the same questions at every Mexican restaurant. Here they have separate vegan rice, all the beans are vegan and the chips are safe too. There’s also kids’ vegan options!!

Pros: Vegan beans , Vegan rice , Vegan kid options

Cons: No breakfast burritos

Tasty tacos

Good vegan Mexican food options that are not oily. Soy asada tacos on soft corn tortillas are tasty with vegan Mexican rice and beans. Food is served Chipotle style. All beans-black, pinto and refried-are vegan. You must specify vegan rice.

Pros: Vegan options labele-tortas , tacos and burritos , Really good vegan rice and whole pintos, Reasonably priced

Cons: Limited outdoor seating, Would like more vegan options

Vegan mexican?! In Blue Jay?

That's right. Now this is not a vegan restaurant, and I'm not vegan. But my wife is, and we were more than happy to have a place with some decent options near Lake Arrowhead! I will say this is not the best Mexican I've ever had, but I'm also no snob- it wasn't bad at all! My wife really enjoyed her Soy Asada burrito. All their bean options (black, pinto, or refried) are vegan and they have a Vegan rice option (the other is cooked in chicken broth). Orders are custom built, kinda like Chipotle or Subway- you tell them what you want, no need to take this or that off an existing menu item. Also, we ordered take out in nearing the end of the pandemic, so not really sure what dining in is like here.

Pros: Several Vegan options, Build your own tacos/burritos/bowls etc

Cons: Relatively bland for Mexican
