Vegan platter is 10/10

Such good Indian food here. We ordered the vegan platter to share and it was amazing, with such a variety of flavours and curries!

Absolutely incredible

Very authentic (to us) tasting Indian food. We ordered a lot of food as we were pretty hungry and it was great. The vadai however maybe weren’t as good as ones we’ve had before unfortunately. The paper roast is absolutely massive!!

Tasty though could be better

I had veg uttappam. It was well made and I would give them 5 stars if it wasn’t for the sambar. Unfortunately it was too watery and lacked lentils.

No vegan options

We visited once with our two kids. Initially, we felt judged by the staff like we shouldn’t have come and they seemed to ignore us as customers for a long time. We were unfamiliar with Indian cuisine and hoped someone could help us identify vegan options since they weren't marked on the menu. When someone finally approached us, we inquired about vegan choices. However, they reacted strangely, so we clarified that we simply wanted dishes without milk and eggs. The entire restaurant staff convened to discuss our request but ultimately concluded they didn't have vegan options. Despite our persistence, they maintained that nothing could be prepared without milk or eggs. This experience left us feeling disappointed, and we cannot recommend this establishment.

Cons: No vegan food, Untrained staff

Hey! Sorry to hear about your bad experience. I just had a vegan meal in this restaurant. Vegetarian Indian restaurants should never use eggs, so you only have to worry about dairy.
Idly is always vegan. Dosa, uttapam, etc. in cheap restaurants like this one, they never fry on ghee, because ghee is expensive. I always ask, of course.
Sides like sambar or coconut chutney are vegan.
There are plenty vegan options here though perhaps the staff wasn’t very helpful when you came.

Yes! Very tasteful Indian food

We spend about 110rm for the 2 of us, and it was worth every Ringgit! We loved it, tasteful, not too spicy. Nice place, if you are in the area and up for some Indian food. Go here!

Pros: Food was tasteful

Piccante 🌶

Tanti piatti e scelte vegan, anche "dolci". Purtroppo veramente tutto molto piccante per i miei gusti ma se piace, son gentili e i piatti molto buoni

Great Food, Rude Staff

Title says it all, the food was amazing. First meal in Malaysia and was really impressed with the quality of the food.

Sadly, having the waiters being extremely rude, staring at me through my entire meal, snatching the money when I paid, short with me when asking about what contained dairy etc was quite off putting. Sadly I can only put this attitude down to one thing…

Edit: Curiosity did get the better of me, and I went back. Much better experience second time around, although didn’t see the same waiters in question this time. Hopefully they were on customer service training.

Great vegetarian Indian food

Really enjoyed their masala dosa, dahi puri and traditional masala chai. Probably tricky to order vegan food, as judging by the other reviews here, but if you’re vegetarian I highly recommend it. More pricey than other options I think, but the food is high quality, not too greasy and the premises are super clean.

No longer recommended for vegans

I have been here many times over the years. However this was the first time I had the good fortune to meet a manager that spoke excellent English. He was very friendly and knowledgeable so I thought it would be a good opportunity to confirm that all my favourite dishes were in fact vegan.
Unfortunately they are not and never were.
I see a lot of vegan reviews on here raving about this curry and that curry... None of them are vegan or can be made vegan according to the manger I spoke to.
The chefs premake the sauces with butter/ghee and/or cream/milk. These sauces are used as a base for 95% of the curries. Seems obvious now to be honest.
Only plain Palak (boiled spinach) on the curries list is vegan.
Many times when I've been here before I have been offered vegan versions of popular curries but I truly believe the staff either didn't understand me fully or were so desperate not to lose face, they just read my reactions and told me what we wanted to hear.
The manger I spoke to informed me quite plainly and politely "it was impossible to make the curries vegan without starting the sauces from scratch" which would take hours.
Some of the breads can be made vegan such as the plain roti. The veggie noodles are vegan. There are also some vegan options dotted around the menu but nothing to really get excited about in my opinion.
It's possible sometimes as a vegan to turn a blind eye to the hidden ingredients in my food. Especially when I'm hungry and in a city that's unfamiliar. I always had my suspicions about this place as everything came out so rich and creamy. Shoula listened to that little voice in my head.

Pros: Great for vegetarians, English speaking manager

Cons: Very few vegan options, No consideration to veganism really

Did not understand vegan

I was so excited to try this place but it did not go well. I found it very difficult to communicate with the waiter and it took a long time for him to understand me while all the locals were turning round to watch. After confirming with him several times that my meal was butter, ghee, cheese, cream and yoghurt free, my dish arrived with paneer inside. I told him I couldn't eat it and he went to remove the lumps of cheese. I told him I couldn't eat the dish, even with the cheese removed and he got me a new one but I was not confident at all so only tried a tiny bit. Such a shame as it all smelled amazing and the bread was delicious. The restaurant itself was nice inside. I was so disappointed!

Cons: Vegan dish had paneer cheese inside, Very difficult to communicate

Good food, pretty inexpensive

This place was easy to find (which is major brownie points). A man came out and pointed to everything that was vegan. I confirmed with him three times that the things I ordered were dairy free and he said yes. The samosas, lentil soup, veggie noodles were all delicious! Would def recommend

Pros: Vegan options , Good service

Cons: None that I could see

Great food, staff didn’t understand “vegan”

I had an opposite experience here to some of the below reviews- our waiter was not at all familiar with veganism and trying to communicate in English about what dishes did and did not have dairy/egg/etc. was really difficult.
With that said, the food we ended up with was really really good. Some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had.

Don't deliver on price

I would say they had the best lassi I ever had, hands down, by far. Came with one of the thalis. Samosas weren't bad either. But the rest was mediocre at best. Also I don't really need ice cream desert with my thali.

Loved it!

My sister is lactose intolerant and the staff were very helpful in showing her what options she could get. We were both so happy with our food. The samosas from here are a must!

Pros: Friendly staff, Dine in or takeaway (speedy prep for takeaway) , Decent amount of dairy-free options

bit pricey but just about worth it

Very nice menu, including samosas and masala parotha which were both spot on. Would get 5 stars if portions were bigger / prices were lower.

Pros: staff spoke good english, masala parotha was 10/10

Cons: portions a bit small

6 stars if I could...

By far the best curry I had on little India. The gobi dosa is unbelievable and so was the brindi curry (aubergine- see picture). Most dishes with butter are listed as having butter which is helpful, but the staff are happy to advise

Pros: best curry in Little India

Cons: slightly higher price than the others but not by m

you can find cheaper Indian food

I have nothing wrong to say about the food here. It was delicious. We paid 25 Ringgits for the special Thali and that is too expensive in my opinion. For the same price you can feed 4 people in another Indian restaurant if you go in Brickfields. It is good but I don’t recommend it.

Pros: good food, many options

Cons: too expensive , not outstanding

Great Indian Food

There are a few Indian restaurants on the same strip but this one seems to be the best. Very popular with locals. Prompt service, great food and they understand vegan, which most dishes are. They even have a few vegan sweets.

Not particularly special, yet expensive

I am puzzled by reviews that claim Sangeetha is inexpensive. My first trip I had a Jain thali, which was RM25. That is in the same price range as set meals at Simple Life (23-28). The second trip I had naan channa masala for 12.50 - same price as Simple Life roti prata with curry. But almost all reviews of Simple Life state that it is rather expensive, while these reviews claim that Sangeetha is inexpensive!

Yet Simple Life food stands out for its healthy preparation (less salt and oil), so there is some basis for the price. Sangeetha fare is what you typically find at Indian eateries: far too much salt. Moreover, I found the taste also to be no more than typical for Indian food in Malaysia. And finally, as other reviewers have mentioned, it is very busy - almost frantic - certainly not the most relaxing place to eat.

The selling point for me was that it was just around the corner from my hotel, and was open when every other vege eatery was closed. But that convenience came at a price.

Pros: Open late, Variety of dishes to choose from

Cons: Rather expensive, Hectic atmosphere, Limited vegan options
