To avoid - Edit
When it was Real Coconut, I LOVED this place
Read moreBut now Sanara kitchen is nothing compared to what it used to be.
They still have very few vegan options on the menu but the staff is now aware what is and what is not.
I had a buddha bowl, half of the items were missing (so it ended being chickpea, rice, tomatoes and avocado). The dessert: brownie was clearly taken out from the freezer or from the fridge and made a few days ago... It was so bad. A real disappointment
Pros: the view
Cons: the food

Extensive vegan menu with tons of unique options. Not your regular beyond-burger place. The cauliflower burrito bowl was great and so were the green smoothies

Tasty 😋 - Edit
Delicious quesadillas and tacos! Gorgeous spot for dinner. Located at the back of Sanará hotel (if accessing via the Main Street) and facing the beach, gorgeous views guaranteed. Very pricey but worth it.

Pricey but beautiful food with an equally stunning view! - Edit
The setting on the beach is stunning and the restaurant is equally as beautiful. I had avo (plantain) toast and although it was expensive, it really was one of the best avo toasts I’ve had! My partner had the vegan burger which was also very tasty and came with the most incredible yellow sauce (I don’t know what it was but It was amazing!!). Friendly, efficient service and we headed to the beach beds to finish our drinks off!

We were blown away by how good everything was here. And it is inside Sanara hotel which is beautiful! You can pay for the beach pass and use the monies towards consumables at the restaurant. A must visit!! The chocolate brownie cookie was ridiculously delicious!

Truly a 85% Vegan restaurant with exceptional food. - Edit
This place blow my mind!! The food is exceptional, and don’t worry that it says vegetarian because it’s mainly vegan minus a bit of egg and some fish/chicken additions. The food is all gluten and dairy free with is whole concept here. Tacos with no corn and none of that beyond meat stuff. True foods and great taste. The only problem here was we wished we would have found it sooner on our trip to Tulum.

Good healthly food option - Edit
This is a restaurant located in a hotel but is open for non resident guests. The menu is not vegan but has a lot of vegan options and some options that can be made vegan. We shared a starter and a main between two which was plenty of food.

Delicious vegan food, wish they would scrap the meat from the menu - Edit
I went here both times I was in Tulum and it has such a magical beach vibe. They call themselves "plant focused" which is a little misleading, I think. I mistakenly thought this was vegan restaurant the first time we went. All of the tapas, which make up the brunt of the menu, are vegan but they also have a section of fish and meat. I wish they would go all the way vegan!! The vegan dishes we had were all so delicious and thoughtfully created. They clearly know how to make amazing plant food so I feel like they are doing themselves a disservice by throwing on a section of meat at the end of the menu.

Amazing space and views, see my photos. Delicious healthy vegan options, we had the coconut mushroom ceviche tostadas, avocado fries and cauliflower fish tacos. Holy wow everything was delicious and do ask for the habanero chili oil if you like it picante!!

Healthy and Eco-friendly - Edit
A beautiful location on the beach, and serves very healthy food from smoothies and elixirs and fresh juices to many kinds of vegan Bowls. The waiter said that they are attempting to become more and more vegan-friendly as time goes on. Gluten-free and sugar-free.

Not as good as we hoped- 4 stars bfast, 3 dinner - Edit
We went here for dinner and breakfast. Breakfast was much better with the drink options, smoothies, etc. Chia pudding I think was better at Raw Love but it was fine here. The plantain bread I was so looking forward to (being gluten free) was so hard and dry but they had almond butter which was nice. If you are vegetarian you will have a lot more options. Dinner was a total miss - we went not knowing it was Indian night, no regular entree menu. No matter, we love Indian food. I liked their kids' menu options better. They have a good lentil taco option. But the Indian options were only 2, heavy, and not very good. The app sampler was all fried and heavy. I didn't even finish my bowl of vegetables which was covered in goopy sauce. Also the prices here are rather exorbitant. We paid it not caring much as we were on vacay but I think our dinner for 2 adults meals, 2 kids meals and one appetizer was 140 USD which is crazy for Mexico. If you go for dinner, find out ahead of time what menu they are serving.

A lot of vegan options - Edit
I love the serene setting of this restaurant and the beautiful modern building that houses it. The view is pretty nice, too. They offer a wide variety of vegan options, including tasty smoothies, interesting "shots" (I really liked the Gin-Zeng shot), vegan ice cream shakes, and a wide variety of vegan tapas. In fact, I kept going back for the Berry Green smoothie, but I'm a sucker for blueberries and spinach.

Best Vegan Food in Tulum {Beach / Hotel Area} - Edit
We’ve gone here a few times during our stay and have gotten different plates each time. Everything is super good, especially the plantain falafels. The chia puddings for desserts are whatever, good, but not the most amazing dessert. However, when they bring your bill, you get some complimentary chocolate chip cookies THAT ARE THE [censored]. They need those on the menu!

Fresh local ingredients modern style - Edit
Upscale modern contemporary dining room (for Tulum) and excellent fresh ingredients most of which come from their own garden. Features coconut and the food is light and delicious. Some meat is available for carnivores, but if you can overlook that, this is a great beachfront option.

Fresh, innovative dishes in casual beach location - Edit
Went here a few times in January – the location is beautiful. Right on the sea front but with a casual vibe. Menu is extensive and very health-conscious, mostly vegan and/or raw, with eggs used on some daytime dishes and seafood and fish on the menu in the evenings. Emphasis on coconut ingredients – we had tacos made with coconut flour tortillas, for example. Everything very fresh and flavourful, service great and friendly too. Recommend the raw coconut cheese and the ice cream smoothies, made with coconut milk!
