Some of the best vegan food at Disney

Incredible food, decor, service! You do not have to stay at this resort or any Disney resort to eat here. Anyone can make a reservation in the Disney app.

You can see the animals from the restaurant! View them from the big windows or step out onto the outdoor paths. If you are not buying a ticket to Animal Kingdom, this is the only other way to see the animals live.

Staff are very knowledgeable about vegan and allergy-friendly options. The gluten-free version of the Bread Service (pita bread with many dips) was delicious! Most of the dips are already vegan, but if you tell them you're vegan, they even have nondairy yogurt for the one dip that would otherwise have dairy.

Several entrees also have vegan and gluten free options. (Most automatically come with rice rather than bread anyway). Bread service one entree is a big meal for one person. I didn't even have room for dessert and I have a sweet tooth.

The food is a lovely mix of African and Indian. The decor looks strongly African and is stunning. Yes, it's expensive, but you would pay this much at any other high-end, sit-down restaurant anywhere in Disney or in the actual city of Orlando.

Cons: Not a buffet/all you can eat, If you want a buffet with similar food, try BOMA

Try the Bread Service!

Must visit when in Orlando for both Disney and Universal! Vegan options in Orlando are hard to find; everything is drenched in cheese, bacon or egg. Luckily there are a few little gems like Sanaa. We ordered the bread service here and it was incredibly tasty and the portion size was enough for dinner for two average Europeans! We definitely recommend Saana but don't forget to make a reservation in advance!

Pros: Bread Service, Service in general

Cons: Lightning, A bit cold inside the restaurant

Get the bread service!

The bread service is the best. You can order it with vegan/GF bread OR half vegetarian naan and half vegan bread.

Pros: Great options!, Knowledgeable servers, Great view of the animals

Cons: Parking, Reservations STRONGLY suggested

Excellent option, reservation suggested

Excellent vegan options that actually have flavor. Disney tends to have very bland food for the masses, but Sanaa does not disappoint. I highly recommend the bread service. It seems a bit pricey, but we’ll worth it. The variety of dips to try is great.

Pros: Great flavors, Plenty of options, Bread service not to be missed.

Cons: Crowded, can often be noisy, Reservations recommended, Sometimes feel rushed through the meal

Excellent food, excellent location

Sanaa has a lot of vegetarian (and vegan) options. Our family tried almost all of them I think, we loved everything. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu. And the location can't be beat - giraffes out the window!

One of the Best!

All of the dining at Animal Kingdom Lodge is extremely vegan friendly, and Sanaa is no exception. There are plenty of options to choose from, and even a dessert! There is a vegan version of the Bread Service available upon request.

Best Vegan at Disney

They have a separate vegan menu if you ask. I Love the bread service. Definitely worth a visit.

Separate vegan menu!

Lots of tasty options and great scenery with free roaming animals outside your window.

Only thing it's missing is a good vegan Naan or Roti bread.

Best Place for Vegetarians Near Disney

Sanaa is located in the Animal Kingdom Villas near the Disney Animal Kingdom Resort.
It has been our favorite place to eat and a nice relief from the mediocre food we have found inside the parks.
They only offer a few vegetarian items. For an appetizer we had the Indian-Style Bread Service. It included three breads. We chose Naan, Garlic-Ginger Naan, and Onion Kulcha. We also had all nine sauces which were Red Chile Sambal, Cucumber Raita, Coriander Chutney, Mango Chutney, Coconut Chutney, Garlic Pickle, Spicy Jalapeño-Lime Pickle, Roasted Red Bell Pepper Hummus, and Tamarind Chutney. This was an appetizer and only cost $11. It could have been an entire meal for 2! They were all outstanding except the two that were just too hot for us. Our favorites were the Coriander Chutney and the Tamarind Chutney.
For the meal we ordered two Vegetarian Samplers and shared them among our family. The dishes included Stewed Lentils, Paneer Tikka and Vindaloo style vegetables. Each sampler came with Basmati Rice or Five Grain Pilaf and cost $15. Everything was amazing.

The atmosphere is outstanding. While dining zebras, giraffes and others may walk past the window. When we have dined there in the evening you can go on the deck after dinner and watch the animals by firelight. There are always guides located outside to tell you more about the animals.

One of our friends dining with us had a allergy to onions and they went out of their way to check the ingredients on every item she was interested in. The chef came to the table and had a lengthy discussion with her. The chef even made her a separate mango chutney without onions.

Excellent place!!

I was totally impressed by Sanaa's vegan selection. They have a separate menu, albeit with only a few entree choices (rice with choice of 2 curries) and waiters are aware of the vegan diet and are very helpful when suggesting items. They had several dessert choices (including tofutti, bamboo rice pudding with tropical fruit), which always impresses me.
Ambiance was great - views of roaming antelope, zebra, giraffe, etc while dining. Apparently, their animals are born into captivity and obtained from other zoos and sanctuaries - or at least that's what I was told when asked.
Overall, great meal and highly recommended for vegans visiting Disney World.

An vegan oasis in the Animal Kingdom?

Prior to going to Sanaa, I was somewhat concerned about eating at a place at the Animal Kingdom considering my stance on animals and zoos. After dining at Sanaa, I was relieved to see how Disney World presented the animals in an African habitat and satisfied by the food we ate. Upon entering Sanaa, I was greeted by friendly staff and after I told them I was vegan, they sat us and told me that the chef would come and talk to us. Chef Angela was funny, polite and determined to make sure that our dining experience was memorable. She suggested appetizer and entree choices which were divine to say the least. I also really liked that the restaurant has individual menus for vegetarians and vegans. Although there are animals outside of Sanaa, I'm sure you could ask to be seated away from them if you wanted to. My husband said it best when he said that Sanaa isn't a zoo, when you eat there, you feel like a guest in the animal's home.
