Wonderful dinner at this a 100 year old house - Edit

The house was built by a mandarin under Duy Tan emperor's reign about 100 years ago. Truly gorgeous and authentic. Their guava salad is refreshing and the summer rolls are lovely. Hue vegetarian cuisine is know for using little fake meat and plenty of fruits like vả (ficus auriculata) and mít (jackfruit). Hue has a variety of rice papers and many styles of spring rolls as a result. Royal families were usually buhdist and therefore Hue vegetarian dishes are among the highlights of Vietnamese vegetarian cuisine.

a must try while in Hue - Edit

I was in town for a few days with my visitng family, and our first choice for veg food was closed. So we opted for San May as a second choice, and learned that this place should always be everyone's first choice. The restaurant is tucked away in a quiet location, surrounded by gardens and fruit trees. The menu has a wide variety of traditional Vietnamese dishes, all priced to local standards. The staff was attentive, and great. I've lived in Vietnam for four years now, and thought the food was insanely good. My family, three non-vegetarians visiting from overseas, left thinking this was one of the best restaurants they'd been to on their trip. We were all satisfied and full at the end of the meal, and our bill didn't exceed $15 (for four people!). Incredible. Some favorites were the fresh spring rolls, Bun Thai (vermicelli soup with Thai spices) Bun Thit Nuong (vermicelli dry with fresh herbs, grilled mock meat and fried spring rolls) and Bun Rieu (vermicelli in tomato based soup).

Pros: Food, Atmospher, Price

Imperial style gem in the north of city - Edit

We had a late lunch here. The atmosphere and the furniture of this restaurant are very beautiful.
There is no English menue, but there is a picture for each dish and the owner speaks English.
We paid about 170 k (~ 8 $) for 4 delicious dishes. Except for the smoothies and yoghurt, everything seems to be vegan.

Pros: Delicious food, Peaceful and relaxing environment, Friendly staff

Cons: A little hard to find
