Maybe I’m just not the best person to write reviews in countries where heavy sauces and starches dominate the cuisine - yet if that’s your thing, maybe this works for you.

Lettuce salad with radish, chives and horseradish dressing.
And another dish saturated with onion even though I’d asked if it was possible without.
Once more, not my style to have dishes dominated by the sauce - yet I was somewhat disappointed.
Pros: Service and atmosphere is chic & polite Züri style, Ingredients seemed fresh

The food is sensational. They are always trying new things and as a vegan person it is always a great experience. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and the atmosphere is great. The staff is always friendly and extremely humorous. It is my absolute favorite restaurant in Zurich.

Great vegan food, but pricy - Edit
They have really tasty vegan food. You can decide between a buffet or great options on the menu. The portion sizes are okey, but it has it's price. Last time we went there (in winther) we tried the vegan fonude and it was absolutely incredible, so worth it. If you have never had vegan fondue, go there in winther and try it out :)

I always order the vegan Tiramisu, but their chocolate mousse is amazing too.

We went there for the Fondue special. It is nice that they serve the Fondue in single pots so we were able to try out four different types of Fondue.

We also had some vegan dessert which was really tasty as well.
All four of us agreed that this would not be the last time we went there :)

Kleines aber super nettes Restaurant mit einem der besten Teams! Sehr sympathisch und authentisch! Das Buffet ist Klasse, keine Frage! Aber die wechselnde Karte sucht seines gleichen! Read moreDespite the fondue is (imho) not a replacement for a real "Moitié-Moitié" fondue, it tastes really delicious and has an awesome flavor by its own.
Overall it was a great evening, with very fast & friendly service in a relaxed atmosphere.

We had 2 fondue, 1 bottle water (0.7), 2 glass wine => ca. 100,- chf
1 Fondue is 36,- chf
PS:
If you plan to go there, it is best to make a reservation in advance. At the time of our visit (a friday evening) there was absolutely no free seat. ;-)

Bestes Restaurant für Veganer in Zürich - Edit
Die Abendkarte wechselt regelmässig, es sind jedoch immer sehr viele vegane Gerichte darunter. Tagsüber (und abends) gibt es ausserdem ein Buffet mit Salaten, Hauptgängen und Desserts. Das Restaurant labelt glutenfreie Gerichte und führt ein glutenfreies Bier. Das Samses ist klein, aber fein und die Inhaberin und das Servicepersonal sind sehr freundlich. Am Wochenende sollte man besser reservieren.

Me and my non-vegan family tried the vegan fondue special and everybody thought it was delicious! We tried 5 of the 6 different fondue variations and all of them tasted very good. The mousse au chocolat was amazing too.

I spent nearly three weeks in Europe, and this was the most pricey meal I ate - though possibly also the most tasty. I'm a picky eater and I tried perhaps a dozen items from the buffet, and there wasn't one I thought came out badly. Most items were vegan, and the staff patiently explained which ones, because there were no labels. The service was warm, and the options were plentiful, albeit not as much so as at Tibits and Hiltl.

Vegan buffet selection - Edit
Easy to find, just a few steps away from Limmatplatz. They offer mostly vegan food at the buffet. Some dishes are vegetarian, it’s not indicated but they will tell you. In comparison to other places, food quality is superior but the price is quite steep. The grape leaves dolmathes and the Greek salad with vegan cheese are very delicious. If you eat at the table, you pay 3.90/100g and later than 6pm, it’s 4.40/100g. Take-away price is 3.70/100g. Hence, you pay about 20.- for a standard size take-away meal. According to their website, there’s a special price of 2.90/100g every 3rd Monday of the month. But on site, it’s not really indicated and staff doesn't tell. Some clarity would be appreciated.

I have been going to Samses for a number of years, the food is tasty, selection is good, staff are friendly, outdoor seating is available and they have a decent selection of beers and wines - what's not to like...
