Hare Krishna affiliated restaurant offering a buffet at lunch, and soup for dinner, plus some desserts and snacks. Feijoada on Saturday and Sunday. Open Sat-Sun 9:00am-3:00pm.
I ended up eating lunch here for 3 days. They had good options to choose from (brown rice, a few Indian like dishes, beans to name a few). Everything was vegan exept for one dish so this place is great for vegans. Just ask the owner what options are vegan. She usually puts the vegetarian option on a different table to separate it from the vegan food. This is a pay by weight buffet. There is outdoor seating. The owner is very nice. Accepts credit cards.
Pretty good food. Affordable. Friendly owner. - Edit
A great place for lunch in Natal, especially if you are in Ponta Negra. The food selection was decent, and it was almost always vegan. Unfortunately, they did not have any samosas!😄Also, there is a balance of Indian and Brazilian dishes. I was hoping the Indian food would be spicier and a little more flavorful, but I think most Brazilians prefer Indian food to not be as spicy as it would be if served traditionally.
The owner is really kind and speaks English. She was happy to help explain the dishes and answer general questions about her place.
The restaurant is in an area that seems shady, but it's fine to walk around in...at least in the daytime.
We were in Natal, Brazil only for a few days. Unfortunately due to our tight schedule, we were only able to eat here once. But, absolutely everything was delicious. We are vegan and were so grateful to find this place. It was one of the best meals we had during our visit to Nata.
As the description says, it's Hare Krishna affiliated. You can buy their books if you want to but there is no proselytization going on. A godsend (or Krishna-send), since this area is a total disaster for people who do not consume animals.
They offer a daily lunch buffet with about 8 choices plus salad and fruit and a couple different samosas, sweet and salty varieties. Payment for the buffet is by weight, the samosas are roughly $1 each. The food is good and mostly or exclusively vegan. On weekends the buffet is the brazilian national dish Feijoada in vegetarian and vegan versions (labeled).
Seating is outdoors - in the shade (about 10 tables). It does not appear they are open in the evenings; maybe for special events.
