Out of all of the local restaurants with Vegan options that we are aware of , Sammy T’s has the most and they are also quite tasty! We come here often and are never disappointed with the food or service.

Idk why people keep saying Sammy T's is legit for vegans, I've been there at least 5 times now and not once have I had a good meal. Bad burgers, bad pasta, bad options. Servers are generally nice enough. I guess if you're desperate then at least this place exists but I would never, ever recommend it.

Outstanding Find on the Way Home! - Edit
Excellent variety (more than on their online menu), vegan/veg/omnivore. Great selection of teas, and all of the food was really prepared well. I had a foldover wrap with spinach, mushroom, onion, tomato in a huge tortilla with a delicious lemon tahini dip. Susan's black bean burger is worth writing home about.

The Camper Special was great, you can substitute vegan cheese. The Falafel Pita was fabulous. Big pita with three large moist falafel. Purchasing sides is not necessary. We will come back when in Frederickburg.

Small, quaint little restaurant downtown with local artwork displayed for sale. Chill vibe and nice staff. Food was delish. There are great options for everyone, meat eater, vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, etc. I had the hummus app and the black bean burger for dinner. Yum.

Nice spot in downtown Fredericksburg. Had a few vegan options and vegetarian that can be modified to be vegan. Black bean burger was really delicious.

Food was excellent. The staff was knowledgeable and super accommodating (pushed two small tables together for us)
Read more. I had the Camper Special made vegan. It came with a small greens salad and was plenty of food for me. C had the Falafel Pita. It was huge and according to her, the best falafel she's had.
Another couple of visits in 2022. Totally enjoyed the food and service again.

Always wonderful when there are so many vegan options. I had the tofu & broccoli in sweet chili sauce. It was an appetizer but enough for a meal. I also had the avocado melt and it was quite good but I stuffed myself on the tofu and took it home for later.

This used to be the only place in town with labeled vegan options on their menu. I have eaten here SO MANY times over the years. They have new owners now. Many of the old vegan favorites are still on the menu, however, the past few times I've gone, they did not have the vegan options labeled. Aggravating! I always ask just to be sure they have not changed the recipes on me. The stir fry is my favorite. They used to have tempeh as an option and it used to be served on an actual PLATTER. I much preferred it this way... But the more moderate helping with tofu is also very good. 🤣 Also, the booths are insanely uncomfortable, but it's part of the charm. 🤣🤣🤣

My wife and I stopped by for lunch - wow we are happy we did. The food here is absolutely amazing. The portions are huge which is a mixed blessing - we are way too much. You really can’t go wrong with the food here. We had the spinach flipper and the falafel pita and both were amazing.

This place had a nice altmosphere. They have a huge vegan menu and it is all clearly labelled. About half the menu there is vegan/vegetarian. They have many great options for appetizers, meals, and even dessert. They sell mostly Mediterranean food, a lot of falafels, hummus, and tahinni sauce. Pretty good prices too, I will definitely be back.

I as t expecting to find such a nice relaxed neighborhood joint with so many vegan options. My side salad with a tahini dressing was terrific. My main dish ( a Camper wrap) was very hearty with lots of grilled veggies.

Sammy T’s has been under new management for a while now and its shown a huge improvement! Their smoked tofu is amazing! I highly recommend it. For an appetizer the polenta fries are a must have and if they have the black bean soup it’s simple but tasty.

VG on the menu is for vegan and there were around 7 options, sadly no dessert options. We had a nice experience at Sammy’s and the service was really good. I enjoyed the smoked tofu and polenta. The nachos with black beans was huge. I’d eat here again if I’m in the area.

The food isn't fresh, and you should prepare yourself for a onion, tomato and iceberg lettuce meal. The only thing that was tasty was the tahini, but that's hard to get wrong.The service was wonderful, which is why I didn't give it a one star.

I've been to sammy t's twice for lunch and have enjoyed both my meals. Today I had the tempeh burger and sweet potato fries. Considering this restaurant is the only place you can go to get some "American comfort food" I think the food is ok. I appreciate having an option while in Fredericksburg, but I find the food to be a little bland and generic. Which is ok, but I don't leave thinking, "wow that was a great meal". The service is pretty good, food comes out pretty quickly, but the seating inside, wow, they could really use an update. The booth seats are not deep enough for not even a petite person. I was seated in a booth my first visit, then asked to sit outside and I sat outside today, I was lucky both days were so gorgeous. I give it 3 stars based on the food.... It's just ok.

I've heard that Sammy T's is being sold and that continuing the operation of the restaurant is not an agreement of the sale, so you definitely should go here before/if they close! It has a nice old-fashioned feel to it. I had friendly and extremely fast service (but then again, I went in the middle of the afternoon for lunch because I eat at weird times), so there weren't many other people there to serve besides my cousin and me. Lots of vegan options (and lots of vegetarian options, too!). I had the falafel, which was really good (big portions, amazing sauce), and they have amazing sweet potato fries (a must-try! but the "small" seemed really large to me...it was more than enough for my cousin and me to share). I definitely would go back/plan to go back again before it gets sold!

Fun place on Caroline Street in Old Town Fredericksburg. Has nice ambiance, folksy farm art on the walls. Several good salad choices, at least 2 vegan soups on the menu, black bean burger and falafel are both deep fried, but taste good. Great neighborhood restaurant/bar type ambiance. Mostly booths that can fit 2 or 4 comfortably. I will definitely go again...

"Slow" Service??? What's Your Hurry? - Edit
Nothing new to add to the already-four-star reviews except to comment on 2 things: The service ain't slow, people. You're just in the south. Those of us who are from the south don't experience this as "slow" service. We are used to the heat and realize this is how we all move when it's hot. Rushing around just ain't gonna cut it.

However, I can't believe no one mentioned how dirty those outside metal cafe tables are! There are no tablecloths for them, just those typical metal tables with holes the same size as chicken wire where food and drink spills are all over it. is it possible they don't wash these things?? last time i was there, i was completely grossed out by it and i vowed to bring my own tablecloth the next time.
Better yet, I'm just gonna write a nice letter to the owner/manager about this because it's just a shame that this is the only complaint - and a glaring one at that! - that i have. if it weren't for this, i'd give it 5 cows...

Pleasant Vegan Options - Edit
We have been here a few times and each time found the same experience. The staff is a bit slow but they are friendly. There is a separate section for vegetarian/vegan options but nothing special. We have never seen anything in the specials section that is vegan. We did find the prices are really high considering there are no sides, everything is ala carte. We found the meals to be bland and just okay but hey, they do have vegan options!
