Family-run organic B&B in southern suburbs of Cape Town, close to the beach and in a safe and slightly alternative neighborhood (i.e. surfers and hippies). One guest room for rent.
Very friendly place and people, a cob house built by the current owners who are trying to live sustainably. They have a lovely en-suite guest room which they run as a B&B. Vegan breakfast (toast, jam, peanut butter, muesli, soya milk, fruit) is available upon request, but give them 24h notice to be sure.
The house also features solar water heating, grey water recycling, solar passive design and ecological soap and cleaning products. The neighbourhood feels very safe and slightly alternative (lots of surfers and hippies). It is easy (and safe) to get to cape town by train (about 40mins). We stayed for 5 nights and can highly recommned it to anyone looking for a reasonably priced lodging experience with a personal touch.

Pros: ecological, a bit far from down-town, alternative
Cons: a bit far from downtown
