Read moreWe had booked a language course and a homestay - and I really had difficulties with the food, although they offered at least vegetarian to accomodate us. After feeling worse every day, we cancelled the meals with the family and came here to eat. (Should have done so from day one. Due to many other language students, there was no Spanish spoken at the table anyway.)
Everything is ecologically sourced (which is true for our diet since 2006 and therefore a dear point to us). Each serving was more than enough to fill you and everything was just delicious!!!
The view to the lake is a nice add-on, but really, I'd have eaten here again and again anyway.
This place was really the place, where my stomach coul recover and where I could eat my fill with proteins not containing egg and/or dairy. (I won't eat beans for a long time to come...)
If I could do something different, then it is booking a cheap hotel and come here for all the meals and to stock up in the shop for cooking myself in the evenings (because it's closed from 4 p.m. on).

Big portions, everything selfmade, all vegan and it just tasted so good. Also nice view on the lake. Also good Mix on dishes (Rice, Pasta, sandwiches, salads, pizza, specials...)

Great selection on the menu, generous helpings, delicious smoothies and food. There didn't seem to much in the way of Guatemalan dishes, but we left feeling taken care of regardless.

Amazing vegan in San Pedro - Edit
I came here 3 times during my stay. The Fiesta fries (huge portion), the meatball sub, carrot sunrise juice, frappachino, and a spicy pineapple avocado tempeh sandwich they had on special..it was all so good!!

We really liked it here, was very big portions and very tasty, I got the parma chickun sandwich and it was so nice, whatever the cheez was (cashew I think) it was soooo tasty 🤤🤤🤤 my partner got the seitan burger and was happy too! Reasonable price for a tourist town too.

The restaurants has unfortunately no Guatemaltacan dishes but international food. The shop has everything and is a paradise for travelling vegans: cosmetics, dry food, tofu, tempeh, even snickers!!!

Best vegan food I’ve had in Guatemala - Edit
Amazing vegan food above a cute health food shop! I had the chicken sandwich on a bagel with garlic chips (delicious and great value), and they’re the only place I’ve seen so far that offers a Beyond Burger which a friend had and said was great. Will be returning, if only for the homemade Snickers from the shop downstairs which has changed my life and I have stocked up on for my Acatenango hike next week!

I couldn't believe the amount of options were available at this place! From loaded fries, to burgers, to rice bowls, to salads, and more. Everything we had was delicious. I had a peanut and maple syrup rice bowl and my partner had a club sandwich with garlic green beans on the side. We also shared some loaded fries (not pictured) which had beans, guacamole and cheeze on them - sooo good! They've got seating on the first floor and then the second floor (on the roof) which provided a nice recluse away from the thumping San Pedro strip.

Amazing vegan sandwich and burger - Edit
Was so impressed with the food at salud para Vida that went back several times. Firstly tried the barbecue chicken and Italian sausage sandwich which were both delicious and full of flavour. Went back the following day for dinner and ordered the avocado bacon cheez burger and the beyond meat deal burger with chips. Both were amazing definitely one of the best vegan burgers I have ever had. The shop downstairs also has some great vegan deserts and snacks however not everything is vegan.

Almost too many delicious sounding options to choose from here. The bbq pizza with vegan chicken chunks was perfect, as was the comically large plate of loaded fries. Vegan snickers bar for desert was so decadent.

A good health food store with a bulk section, handmade vegan cheeses (yummy but just okay), some violife cheeses and beyond products! DELICIOUS bagels. Expensive, but as expected for a healthfood store on a tourist island. I didn't try the restaurant but most excitedly, they have vegemite! Small Jars and quite expensive but they were on sale, very nice after being away form Australia for 14 months! Would have loved to try the restaurant, maybe next time.

Read moreThere is a shop for reusable kitchen stuff and bottles upstairs and some old books, downstairs is a shop, where you can buy organic food and supplements. I warmly recommend the vegan homemade "snickers" and the cakes (frozen, they first have to melt).

Restaurant was closed when I was there, but shop downstairs was opened. They have tempeh, tofu, good choice of home made vegan sweets, spreads, cheese. And a lot of other items such as ready meals, sweets, milks, probiotics, mock meat or supplements and many more. Prices are european, sometimes items quite high. Variety of products is better than most convenient shops in guatemala.

The place is beautiful, especially the terrace. Also the food is nice, they’ve got vegan cheese and meat. The burgers are not that big but good for a snack. Also in the store downstairs you can find vegan self made chocolate bars and cakes. These are also very delicious (find them in the fridge).
