Delicious but very small portions - Edit

Edited 18/01/2018: decided to increase to five stars as we went back there twice more during our stay in Cusco, for more pizzas one time and for takeaway sandwiches on another occasion. Every time the food was excellent; we just learned to order more of it to satisfy our appetites!

I can’t speak highly enough of the quality and flavours of the food at this restaurant - myself and my partner each had a vegan pizza with all homemade ingredients which we shared between us and which were both delicious! We also had a chocolate each for dessert which was very tasty. However this review was knocked from a 5 star by the tiny portion sizes - we could have easily eaten two pizzas each and still had room for dessert. If we find time to come back this trip we’d definitely order double portions of the food - I.e. four pizzas between the two of us.

Pros: Amazing delicious vegan pizza , Handmade ingredients from scratch , Tasty drinks

Cons: Tiny portion sizes

This place is amazing! The food was fresh (most coming from the owner's farm), delicious and we loved speaking with the owner. Unfortunately we weren't in Cusco long enough to eat here more than once, but we were all very impressed!

Pros: Great food! , Good prices!, Lovely ambiance!

Disappointing - Edit

We tried the lunch menu. We had the ratatouille and pizza. I should have known better than to order gluten free pizza. It wasn't so bad. It was just only about two bites. The ratatouille included no carbohydrate. Both meals left was wanting to immediately eat a bag of potato chips as we left. I attribute this to just not enough, fat, salt, or sugar which normally serve to satisfy me with a meal. It was just too healthy for me. But to be fair, I'm vegan for the animals. I'm not an acetic when it comes to health. Give me all the vegan doughnuts.

Pros: all vegan , good if you're on some kind of diet.

Cons: small portions , lacking in carbohydrates and fats , on the expensive side of vegan options.

Gem Of Cusco - Edit

Fresh ingredients and freshly prepared right there! Almost all ingredients come from the owners farm and all of it is prepared there by her and her helper! For 14 soles you get a menu that is incredible for your body and mind. First you get warm Piña juice or warm ginger water to prepare for digestion, then a entree of your choice and finally a dessert! Favorite bistro in Cusco!! Great vibes and delicious food!

Refreshing experience in Cuzco! - Edit

My girlfriend and I walked into this gem almost by accident (don’t be discouraged by the street that looks under siege!). While we both enjoy meat and fish, we were really delighted to discover the beautiful, creative vegan menu. We’ve had a delicious onion soup with vegan cheese, delicious artichokes with a mouthwatering salad and very nice truffles for dessert. I don’t know if the owner is able to achieve such level of freshness everyday, but our artichokes had only been picked the day before!
The owner and the waitress were both extremely nice and helpful. Even better: the menu was ridiculously cheap (12 soles as of Jan 2017).
Definitely the place you need to go in Cusco if you want a refreshing culinary experience or a break from the regular Peruvian food you’ll enjoy during your trip.

Pros: Delicious, fresh menu, Very affordable, Quiet

Cons: Some missing items on menu (but we arrived late)

Great raw /healthy/glutenfree food - Edit

I was impressed by the quality of the food here for the really fair price. I had the super salad consisting of sprouted lentils and chickpeas, fermented cabbage, carrots, and two different homemade cheeses. One I couldn't quite identify, and an amazing cashew cheese fermented with quinoa rejuvelac. For desert I had the cranberry cheesecake. Small but so tasty!
Everything was glutenfree.
If you are really starving you might want to go elsewhere because the portions are medium-sized (satisfying for moderate apetite).

Pros: Top quality products and healthy (and glutenfree), Tasty and made with a lot of care and skill, Fair price

Cons: Medium to small portions

A new favourite - Edit

Having tried most if not all of the vegan and vegetarian restaurants in Cusco over the last two years I can happily say that Salud De Luz is one of the best!
At only 12 soles for the three course menu it is great value for money.
I had a choice of two lovely homemade soups, followed by two mains, a hot dish or a super salad (I had the hot dish - red quinoa primavera. Delicious!) and then a choice of nine desserts! (the toughest decision I have needed to make in a long time! They all sounded great!)
The restaurant is welcoming and peaceful with a pretty courtyard.
The staff are also happy, very welcoming and friendly.
I left with a full and happy tummy and look forward to my next visit.
A little harder to find than some of the other restaurants, but please make the effort - you will not be disappointed.

Pros: Great value for money, Friendly service, Very clean restrooms

Cons: Not open at the weekend

Wonderful! - Edit

Salud de Luz offers the whole package: delicious and salubrious food, cooked with care, served with a smile in a charming and peaceful atmosphere, all for a surprisingly low price.

Today there was a choice of soups (I had the leek and baby turnip, which was delicious), followed by a main course featuring a very satisfying avocado salad with veggies, topped off with a choice of three desserts.

As the previous reviewer said, the courtyard is very pleasant and tranquil, and there are four tables inside as well.

Bonus points for two very nice and clean restrooms.

Highly recommended.

Delicious food, friendly service - Edit

I have been here a couple of times for lunch, and thoroughly enjoyed it!

The proprietor is a friendly lady from Miami, and she has employed very friendly local staff.

For 12 soles (as of Sep '16), for lunch I got: a hot pineapple juice, a delicious soup (one time it was beetroot and cashew, the next cheesy potato), a super salad (loads of fresh carrot, onion, cabbage, chickpeas, and thins with delicious dips/houmous on them as well as other ingredients I can't remember right now), a tiny but tasty pudding and unlimited water.

The courtyard is one of the most peaceful places I have been in Cusco. It is also very pretty.

On both occasions I have visited, I felt full and refreshed and I think it is great value for money.

Highly recommended.

Pros: Friendly service, Great value for money, Lovely courtyard

Cons: A bit out of the way
