An Oasis in a Vegan Desert

We were pleasantly surprised to find out that this is the only restaurant in Juan Dolio that serves dedicated vegan/vegetarian dishes. The only problem is that you have to specifically ask for the vegan/vegetarian menu as they will give you the meat menu first. The only way to get a vegan/vegetarian meal at any of the other restaurants in the area is to order a series of limited side dishes such as french fries, rice and roasted vegetables. This became very boring until we discovered Sal Marina. We sampled several vegan and vegetarian dishes which were all excellent. This became our go to restaurant during the time we spent in Juan Dolio. Sal Marina was like an oasis in a vegan desert.

Pros: Indoor and outdoor dining.

Cons: Had to ask for bread to go with the meal.
