Wonderful vegan food

I really enjoy the food in this restaurant visited in 2019. As we stayed 5 days in the hotel, we could taste everything in the menu, all was fresh, delicious and completely vegan (excepted honey). If Bali was not so far, we would go back especially for this food.

Pros: Delicious, Fine gourmet

Filling breakfast sets

During our stay we had breakfast twice. I think our favorite Items were the smoothie bowl and the muesli. Breakfast come with juice, hot drink, a bread basket and fruit which is more than enough for a person. Their gluten free bread is very nice.

As for dinner we tried the coconut curry (10/10), Balinese sharing set (8/10), mushroom dumplings (8/10) and desserts.

The sharing set was too small to share tbh. IMO the 2 person set is enough for one person, unless you order sides to share. Desserts were sadly average. Had high expectations from a restaurant that's specifically specialized in plant foods.

Pros: Great setting and environment

Friendly, accomodating, delicious

Eaten here for seven days and enjoyed it immensely. To get the important out of the way, this place is a bee’s dick away from being vegan. It just needs to stop using honey and bee pollen.

The food is fantastic. The atmosphere is beautiful and the service is the best I’ve experienced in Bali.

The food is very varied in flavour, but always delicious and healthy. Their skill with raw plant based foods is so high that you very quickly forget that they focus on raw plant based here. Our favourites were the Asian Tacos, the Dragonfruit Bowl, the Balinese Sampler and the Shiitake burger (ask for vegan bread a day in advance)

The only disappointment is the amount of substitutions we have had to make regarding honey in the bread and desserts. It’s not always specified on the menu, so I recommend asking. They were flexible with the menu where possible.

Vegan fine dining

We came to Sakti for our anniversary dinner and tried the 7 course taster menu. Every course came with an elixir drink and attentive service from staff who explained every dish on serving. Expensive but a nice place for a special treat!

Not great for raw food

Was expecting a menu with many of raw food dishes, however the options were rather limited.
I ordered a salad and the raw lasagne. the salad was pleasant, but the lasagne was rather disappointing. It was visually pleasing, but overall quite lacklustre. I guess this restaurant doesn’t have a dehydrator so they have limited their creativity.

Cons: Expensive

Best vegan restaurant in the world!

This restaurant serves top restaurant quality food in a very beautiful setting. Very flavourful dishes, and most of them are raw. We were pleasantly surprised with every dish. For Indonesian standards the prices are a bit high, but it's worth every penny!! The menu includes lots of fresh juices and shakes, tasty salads, apertizers , soups, delicious mains and great deserts . Prices for mains range between 115k and 165k. The staff asks you about allergies and are very helpful.

Pros: High quality fresh food , Nice atmosphere , Friendly staff

Cons: Price (but worth it!)

Fantastic restaurant in a wonderful resort

My wife and I stayed at 5 elements resort/hotel for three nights during our honeymoon in April 2015, and ate at the Sakti dining room for each meal.

The food was absolutely fantastic. I'm normally quite skeptical of raw cuisine, as I really enjoy cooked vegan food. However, the all the food, including the raw food at the sakti dining room was fantastic. The raw food worked particularly well for lunch due to the warm temperature outside.

Some particular highlights:
- The tofu here is made from cashew and coconut. It tastes incredibly rich and creamy.
- Lots of cashew cheese dishes (e.g. bruschetta). All wonderful.
- Salads come with delicious coconut based dressings with indonesian spices
- Delicious cooked dinners including nassi lemak (fried rice with tempeh), laksa (coconut noodle curry), thai green curries.
- Delicious cooked soups including south indian daal and thai coconut mushroom.

Breakfasts were fantastic also, featuring a smoothie/juice, a fruit bowl with delicious coconut yoghurt, and then a main dish (e.g porridge, muesli, hashbrowns with mushrooms, pancakes or nassi lemak).

The only downside to this restaurant, and it is a big one, is that it is not vegan. Many of the dishes, and all of the desserts except one, include honey. If you follow a vegan diet, it is necessary to ask for honey to be removed or for them to make a special dessert for you.

The staff were incredibly courteous and friendly and were very accomodating of my request to have meals without honey. Despite it incorrectly calling itself a vegan restaurant, I'm happy to give this place 5 cows.

Pros: Delicious range of meals, Friendly staff, Beautiful setting

Cons: Many desserts contain honey
