Can't fault the food, just wish I could afford it! - Edit
This place is a dream of mine. I used to wander through Paris looking through patisserie windows at the cakes and pastries and fantasise about them being vegan! The reality is that now I no longer have a high income these kind of places have to be a rare luxury for me. (Probably a good thing for my waistline too).
Read moreThey have a small seating area which annoyingly looks directly at a large table that is reserved for staff! Ridiculous. We only waited 10 mins to sit down and luckily got the corner space where all 4 of us could squeeze in, do not expect to be able to eat inside unless you have the patience of a martyr!
The pastries are without exception superb. Light, sweet but not sickeningly so, and scrumptious in texture.
I had my first ever cafe coffee with split pea milk which was very smooth and sexy.
I hope to return one day and find a fifty euro note on the floor as I approach and then feel able to enjoy the delights of this place without feeling too guilty or decadent!
Pros: An all vegan french style patisserie.!!!! , Perfect pastries
Cons: Very limited seating , a staff table sat empty!, Queues to get in!, Expensive.

Great cafe - Edit
Really good coffee, lots of delicious looking pastries (apple turnover is yummy) but a very popular place with not much seating. I think there are multiple in the same area though and some are bigger.

Heavenly - Edit
Just pure heaven. I had the pistachio cruffin. I ate it by myself with an oat latte on a bench by the canal and it was a transcendental experience.

A must stop in Amsterdam - Edit
The hype is 100% deserved. The line out the door was a good sign. Some of the best pastries we’ve ever had, vegan or not. My favorite of the four kinds we tried was the croissant with chocolate and hazelnut. Amazingly flaky, and wonderful flavor and texture. Near religious experience. So good. And great coffee to go with it. Do not leave the city without giving SJ a try.

Do not miss this if you're in AMS!!! - Edit
Easily some of the best pastries of my life. My fiance said the pistachio cruffin was the best pastry he's ever had (although be slightly warned, they do not skimp on the pistachio filling and it is a very rich pistachio butter, although incredibly delicious). The other cruffin we got was their seasonal salted caramel & caramelized macadamia cruffin and the filling was *chef's kiss*. Not to mention the cruffin exterior itself was wonderful.
Read moreMy other favorite was the orange hazelnut danish - I didn't think I would like it because I don't like orange/chocolate combos but the orange flavor was very light and the filling was very hazelnutty and the pastry was so crispy and ugh, I wish I lived next to this bakery.
The other two items we got, the brioches, were fine, but definitely not as good as the cruffins & the other danish.
Pros: Amazing pastries, Unique combinations
Cons: Long lines, Not much seating

Popular Pastries - Edit
I chose a cinnamon roll, which was quite bland. However, my partner's Hazelnut Pain au Chocolat was flavorful. We wanted to order drinks for here, but the few seats were taken, and they wouldn't allow us to wait since others were already waiting.

The absolute best - Edit
I came here 3 times in 5 days, the pastries are to die for (try the Cronut)!!! Not many places to sit inside but if you go early in the morning during the week you could probably snag a chair and table. If you’re looking for amazing pastries, vegan or not, go here!!! Also don’t miss their deli across the street for more savory options!

Amazing and worth it - Edit
Tried the pistachio cruffin and pain au chocolate. Absolutely incredible, recommend to anyone that is going to Amsterdam. Went on a Saturday so it was really busy and big queue outside, so be prepared to not have a table or to wait a bit.

Place to go for french pastry - Edit
They offer a wide selection of attractive and eye pleasing french pastries. Unluckily the place has a lot of hype and almost no seating, so I had to take everything away. I found the pastries good, but a bit too dry, maybe because I couldn't try them fresh. But if you are lucky to try it right in the café, I am sure they are perfect.

amazing dough but VERY sweet - Edit
I like the place, just be careful in what you pick. I’m not on a sugar-less diet or anything but I would some items a lot more if they used less sugar. The croissants (pecan-maple syrup and pistachio) are my favourite. Great coffee, pre-order-only yuzu thyme cake was too sweet imo, as were the cookies and the pistachio cruffin. Staff are very friendly and luckily I’ve almost never had to queue.

A must visit! - Edit
We went twice in our weekend visit, we had to queue both times at 10am on a Saturday and 11am on a Sunday but only for 15/20 minutes and the line moved quickly. There is very limited seating in the cafe so don’t expect to find a seat. There is a toilet at the back of the shop up the stairs which you can use. I got the croissant, pain au chocolates, cinnamon bun and both of their cruffins. All were amazing but I wouldn’t rave about the cinnamon bun as it was a little dense and dry.

Long queue was worth for the cronut! - Edit
Went around 11am on a Sunday morning, probably wasn’t the best idea since I waited for around 40 minutes. I think it was 100% worth the wait though.
Read moreBe careful there is close to no seats inside, and it’s always packed so don’t expect to sit in.
The coffee was amazing!! I usually take my lattes with sugar, but this one was too good to put sugar in it.
I took the Babka Chocolate & Hazelnut. It was okay but nothing extraordinary.
What was extraordinary is the cronuts. The seasonal cronut was caramel that day and let me tell you it was the best thing I’ve eaten in my entire life. I can’t even describe it. It melted in my mouth.
Update: I went again the next day. On a Monday morning the queue was less long. The croissant was okay, but what really stood out was the Orange Danish. I absolutely loveeeed it!!

Just amazing!! - Edit
Fell in love with this place🥹 It’s lovely to sit inside although the seating is limited. The chai latte was DIVINE and had tons of actual fresh spices inside. The baked goods were…I mean…just out of this world. The pistachio croissant was everything I could ever wish for😂 If there’s one thing I’d improve, it’s removing the sales table upstairs to allow for more seating. It’s so lovely that you can view the kitchen too through the glass door inside. Obsessed with this place, will be back next time I’m in AMS!!

Fancy - Edit
The baked goods look beautiful, more pretty and fancy than your typical coffeeshop. €4-something a pastry is a bit steep but the quality is high. The maple walnut croissant was delicious. (The babka was so-so.)

You Won‘t Believe It‘s Not Cheese - Edit
The savory pastries and other baked goods are not just a masterful display of baking, but how great vegan cheese and other dairy alternatives can be.
Read moreThe third time I‘ve been there I was so convinced I was eating cheese, that I instantly felt a wave of regret wash over me as I have introduced all my vegan friends to this bakery. I made a u-turn and had to ask the staff if everything was plant-based and they confirmed it. And to this day I feel gaslit, because their cheese is just that good.
The sweets are the flakiest and creamiest pastries you will encounter and they are too pretty to bite into. So much so that the devouring of these little tasty sculptures becomes a performance in itself.
And to top it all off, the coffee is fantastic. You can choose the beans for your espresso and really get something you like or pick from the batch brews.
Pros: Great Coffee, Exceptional Cheese Alternatives, Fast Service
Cons: Overfilled at the Weekends
