RqLocated in the street right across from Patthaya trainstation, the saifon guesthouse proudly proclaims "vegetarian food" already on the pedestrian-facing marquise. Puzzling that the menu does not feature any clearly marked vegetarian (protein-heavy) options. Noticing my examination of said menu, the madame of the house greets me with "are you vegetarian?"
Read moreTurns out several dishes can be done with tofu. I had the cashew stir fry tofu, but there are other options as well - next to meat free options such as stir fry morning glory or papaya salad.
The atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly. The family running the place is just doing their thing in the main area in classic asian-restaurant fashion which is always neat. Would recommend 👍

While there are no vegan options on the menu, the staff understand very well how to make any dish vegan, and the result is really delicious!

Good Pad Thai - Edit
This restaurant that is also a Hotel and Bikerental has some vegan options if you ask for it. We had some Pad Thai which tasted really good. For 50 Baht per serving it was also really affordable.

After a long day riding around Ayutthaya it was really nice to eat a delicious vegan pad thai (you can ask for it) and spring rolls! They cost respectively 50 and 70bht, are fulfilling and delicious.

After being informed I'm vegan the owner prepared Pad thai with tofu and no eggs (which is not on the regular menu). Very friendly staff and inexpensive, tasty meals. Couldn't rate 5 stars in the app, but the food's definitely worth it.
