Plant based concept, offering a mix of American and Mexican classics: burritos, tacos, pizza, burgers, weekend brunch and more. One of several outlets, this one is pick-up and to-go only, with a limited menu, from a satellite kitchen. Previously a sit down restaurant on Sepulveda. This location is marked vegan since they don't have honey in any of the drinks. NOTE: Will add meat to the menu in JUNE 2024. Open Mon-Sun 11:00am-11:30pm.

Sellout - Edit
Mollie the owner should be ashamed. If you needed to expand your menu with dead animals to attract more customers, then be honest and say that up front. No need to spout a bunch of "regenerative farming" bs to try and justify killing animals. The truth is you, and your family who also own cafe gratitude and gracias madre, are in it to make a buck. THAT'S your priority. And according to you and your family, if that means the torture and killing of animals, then so be it apparently. Disgusting. No heart, no integrity, no morals. Take the "kind" out of your name.

The creators of Sage bistro decided they didn't have enough money being fake vegan posers in Los Angeles, so on Earth Day 2024 they decided they would announce that they will be raping, poisoning and destroying mother earth for more profits. Rot in hell you sad, pathetic, disgusting monsters.

I saw an interview of the owner months ago where she talked about offering animal products on her farm to table in Texas. This day was bound to happen. She should’ve just sold off the business as is. 👎🏼

Incredible bowls - Edit
Sadly, this location is closing (per Instagram and restaurant staff). Excellent heated, covered patio seating with smaller indoor area. The food is filling, fresh, and flavorful. A little pricey per entree.

one of my favorite restaurants - Edit
first of all, i’d like to mention that i came here for two meals in a row-! it was that good. sage definitely makes the list of my favorite restaurants of all time. the service was good, the atmosphere in the restaurant is wonderful, and the food is delicious!
Read moreeverything i had from here was phenomenal and tasted fresh. i really enjoyed the banh mi sandwich; additionally, i’d recommend any of the pizzas here. both the gluten free crust and the regular crust are well-made. i didn’t feel like i was missing anything when i ordered the gluten free one. the cauliflower wings here are definitely worth a try as well, they aren’t overly battered but still have a good crunch, texture, and flavor.
finally, i really loved the ice cream (kind kreme) here at sage! i’ve been through my share of disappointing vegan ice cream, and although i will say it melts fast, the taste is spot on. the strawberry was my favorite.
overall, this has definitely become one of my favorites. definitely recommend! #Veganuary
Pros: amazing menu, good service, ice cream!!
Cons: i believe some drink may have honey (just a note)

Outstanding options - Edit
This is my third Sage restaurant. Although the Sage stores have very different vibes, the food is consistent: creative dishes and many choices. Yes, the prices are about 10% higher than at comparable vegan places, but the patio experience alone is worth a few extra dollars.
Read moreOur party of four each ordered something different. I had a hard time deciding, and when I asked the server for guidance, he told me which dishes were the most popular and which be recommended... But it was still tough to choose.
I don't usually get dessert, but we had to try the ice cream. It was the ideal ending to a great meal, flavorful but not heavy duty.
Great service, fresh, high quality ingredients, combined in novel ways. A must-try for vegans, and non-vegans will find plenty to love too.

The food was delicious. I had a pasta dish with eggplant. The most memorable was the fried artichoke hearts appetizer. It was so delicious I forgot to take a picture.

Sage is exactly the heartbeat of Los Angeles vegan. From the room and patio to the staff to the music to the restaurant garden and CSA organic farm.

A vegan restaurant should be the heartbeat of LA Vegan. Not a place that sells honey for pleasure and profit.

You really can't go wrong with a trip to Sage. I really dig the seating area. The food here is really good. I'm not a beer drinker but I do like to grab some of their brews for my brother back home.

Love the bowels here. Healthy portions. Only thing I’m not a fan of is the pizza. They do not make their own vegan cheese so the pizza is subpar, however everything else pretty solid!

I love Sage - Edit
This is probably my favorite or one of my favorite vegan restaurants in Los Angeles. They have lovely outdoor seating, and there is something for everyone here. It never disappoints! Whether your thing is ice cream, baked goods, sandwiches, pizza, salads, or bowls; you will be happy here! I have brought many carnivore friends here, and everyone loves it. I love the option to get a little treat afterward at kindkreme too.

Best vegan restaurant I’ve experienced - Edit
My non-vegan friend recommended this place and I will be forever thankful. I couldn’t figure out what to choose as my entree because the menu is packed with all kinds of options, but I went with the Lemongrass pasta. I’m STILL daydreaming about it. It was spicy, creamy, super flavorful. I added some tofu on the side but honestly, the pasta on its own was perfect.
Read moreWe split the mac and cheese and it is the creamiest and cheesiest one I’ve ever had (even pre-vegan). I wish we could’ve ordered more because the serving is kind of small, especially for sharing. The pretzel with the habanero cream cheese dip was also excellent. If I lived in LA, I would be eating here on the regular.

Delicious huge menu - Edit
We stopped here on a drive back from SB to SD. It was right off the freeway and so delicious. My husband and I both loved what we got and I wish I could have tried more!! So many of the dishes looked delicious. I am usually a person who knows exactly what I want at restaurants because I am super picky. Usually there is like 1-2 things on a menu that look good to me, but I was overwhelmed by how many things I wanted to try. The service was great too! I hope we will be back on another road trip!
