My First Raw Food Restaurant Experience - Edit
The food was delicious even by my parents' standards (omnis getting a taste of vegan food). The waitstaff were friendly. The price was decent. The food was surprisingly filling (I thought restaurant raw food would be more salad-y). One dish would have fed both my mother and I to a comfortable fullness (YMMV, my mother and I are small people).
My dad was impressed by one of the kindkreme berry sorbets. I also appreciated the fact you can taste test which ice creme you'd like at the shop front and then order it to bring back to your table.
Overall a positive experience...but if you plan on going for dinner, the low light ambiance and small font on the menus might be a challenge. Pro-tip: My parents used their smartphones to be able to read the menu. (one of those large page magnifiers might help too)

Mini Sage Delivers a Big Punch!! - Edit
So if anyone is familiar with the famous and absolutely delicious and favorite of many: SAGE Restaurant, then you will have an idea of the fabulously healthy and delicious selection that you will find here. This Pasadena cafe is an abbreviated version of the larger menu that the mother-ship provides. But don't you worry, you will not be disappointed!!! Super tasty! Now, there isn't loads of room for a larger party, but it's perfect for a few friends who just want some awesome vegan food - Really nice staff and warm community ambiance. It's a cafe feel more than a romantic candle-light place. I went with all my sweet toothed friends so they were delighted to have all the vegan desserts at their finger tips too =) It's a really nice casual vibe.
Pros: It's here on the East Side! Yipeeeeee!!, Casual/Not Uptight, Such a GREAT Menu Still - Lots of Choice
Cons: Not Everything Made it over to this Menu

Not worth $20 - Edit
I had the BBQ 'Pork' (jackfruit) sandwich and a date shake. The jackfruit had a strong brine aftertaste (as if it had just been taken out of a can) and the BBQ sauce was overwhelmed with lemon juice.
The date shake is a California classic, created in the desert date groves about an hour east of here. Traditionally, it consists of dates, vanilla ice cream or milk, and sometimes a bit of cinnamon or nutmeg. They asked which one of their ice creams I wanted in the date shake and I said "vanilla, of course". They said they didn't have vanilla, only vanilla-orange-honey, which wasn't vegan. An ice cream store that doesn't have vanilla? I should have cancelled the shake at that point, but I went with what seemed to be the next closest choice which was coconut-pineapple, and that was just yuk.
Pros: It's near a Metro light rail stop
Cons: Unusual flavor pairings, Can't assume everything is vegan

Kind Kreme is now merged with Sage Vegan Bistro - Edit
This review is for the Pasadena Kind Kreme, which is now merged with Sage Vegan Bistro. I mean, this is the best news ever. You can go order a bowl of vegan mac n' cheese/spicy Brazilian burrito/blta pizza and then get your Kind Kreme soft serve as dessert. My only complaint is that the restaurant isn't bigger as it's always full! It was meant to be an ice cream shop and is now trying to accommodate a lunch/dinner crowd. I love it so hard though. Amazing amazing food, great price. Fingers crossed that they can open up in a new location one of these days.
Pros: delicious food, affordable, easy parking
Cons: small restaurant

Love this place and everything it stands for. By far the best ice cream in the world! Worth a visit, even if you have to travel from the other end of the world!

Yummy - Edit
Very tasty vegan ice cream. The Lime Kale was especially delicious.
It's a bit pricey with $3.99 for a scoop but I found it was well worth it.
Pros: Tasty, Great Selection
Cons: Noisy

vegan soft serve - Edit
We finally tried out this location in Pasadena. We usually always go to the one inside Sage in Echo Park. This location has 2 or 3 times more flavor varieties which was awesome. We tried the chocolate espresso one with ground up espresso beans. Wow! Also, we got the soft serve, a combo of the chocolate and coconut. It was very tasty, but be warned that the coconut flavor overwhelms the chocolate. Although we didn't try any, they also serve some lunch food items that looked good on the menu which aren't at the other location. I look forward to checking out this location again.
Pros: vegan soft serve, lots of flavors
Cons: sells honey

Yummy raw ice cream - Edit
Had read about this place on HappyCow and here's my KindKreme review. Was just here 2 days ago.
The good thing about Kindkreme is that they offer a nice range of raw ice cream flavors, most of which are vegan suitable (without honey). Vegan flavors contain agave instead, but I don't personally like agave. In any case the servers let you try several different flavors of your choice, and that's the fun part.
I got to try the waffle sandwich (vegan), mine was filled with 2 different choices of ice cream. I got the chocolate pumpkin seed and the coconut cacao nib. Yummy. Very filling and perfect for 2 people to share.
The space is okay, casual with little tables, tall stools, and a couple tables outside.

Very friendly and fun ice cream parlor - Edit

Meh. - Edit
They advertise soft serve, which is conceptually awesome. Only conceptually. I have yet to be there when their soft serve equipment is operational. Otherwise, it's nothing different than what you can get at a well-stocked health food store, which makes their non-novelty ice cream pricey. Also, beware. They say their ice cream is vegan, but they use honey in some of it. They'll tell you which, but you have to know to ask.
Pros: variety
Cons: inconsistent
