Serves meat, vegan options available. Cafe overlooking the Hive area of the Erina Fair shopping center. Emphasis is on simple ingredients with lots of salads and bowls. Many options start out as vegan, such as the low carb breakfast, the pan-full of goodness, the yellow split pea & vegetable curry, and several others. Has chia pudding breakfast bowl.

Plenty of clearly marked vegan treat options, alternative milks for coffee, and lovely undercover verandah to sit on.

super Tasty! - Edit
I ordered the vegetarian breakfast and got it GF and vegan. It came out really quickly and tasted delicious! Possibly the best hot cooked vegan breakfast I’ve had!

Lovely food - Edit
Great food with some good vegan options. Disappointed to see they charge 60c more for soy milk and $1 more for bonsoy.

An inviting atmosphere and good, if simple food - Edit
There's a certain line of thinking that we cook too much — Food tastes good, so why get in the way of that? Why not cook to emphasise the flavour of the natural ingredients, and stay out of their way? This isn't raw food, to be clear, we're still talking about sauteing mushrooms or baking potato, but the goal is to separate flavours, let them be appreciated on their own, and enjoy food on its own terms.
Read moreThis is the mindset Sage cafe operates in. A light, airy cafe in the Erina Fair shopping complex, it tends less toward fancy baking or elaborate wet dishes, and rather toward plates, bowls and pans of ingredients cooked well and presented simply.
There is an absolute charm to this approach; I love that it treats the guest as a participant in their food, choosing to mix ingredients on their own terms and experiment with flavour combinations. Here, the flavours are by nature subtle, and it works.
However, I feel that when they try something other than this, the flavours remain a bit too subtle for their own good. (eg. Yellow Split Pea Curry.) I would appreciate a few more strong flavours in their menu, if only for variety.
Beyond that, the coffee is decent but not much more; and the service is perfunctory at best. These issues also hold the cafe back.
Still, they win points for clearly showing their vegan options and having a wide variety of vegan options on hand.
Pros: Well signed vegan options, "Natural" plates and bowls well presented; tasty
Cons: Service could be better, Curries, etc. could be stronger flavoured
