The Sacramento Vegetarian Society, founded in 1986, is a nonprofit democratically run membership organization that promotes a vegan, plant-based diet and lifestyle. Vegetarians and non-vegetarians welcome. Sponsors vegan potlucks, dine-outs, presentations, and other educational and social activities, including the annual SacTown VegFest.

Kudos to both the Sacramento Vegetarian Society and the Sacramento Vegan Society, now separate organizations, both of which are user-friendly opportunities to come in contact with vegetarian/vegan food and people.
