vegan restaurant with owner chef who tells customer to eat meat?

We were surprised that owner chef stated 'it is a good idea to eat a little bit of meet'. She said she eats meat to gain some muscle. I didn't enjoy eating there from someone who tell customer to eat meat. I don't think they get the sprit of being vegan.

Yes, Yukie san eats meat. She made the business for vegans because there are not many options out here for us. I am sure she was not meaning to recommend to you to eat meat. I think it is nice she is honest about her personal food preferences actually. She is not faking it.
But personally, I don't think that is a good reason to give a bad review. The review should be about the food taste/quality/service...but that's just me. Sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your visit.

Always fresh, always friendly

I love the atmosphere of the wood interior, food is always fresh and delish. Owner Yukie is friendly & funny once you get to know her. She is willing to substitute ingredients when she can, esp if given advanced notice. On-the-spot requests are more challenging bc she manages the cooked orders alone. My local go-to when I need a pick-me-up & a belly full of laughter.

Pros: Beautiful presentation of healthy vegan food , Veggies supplied locally & organic when possible, Mom & Daughter so welcoming but shy to speak engl
