A beacon of healthy eating

One of the more common reasons for a tourist to end up in Ciudad Guzmán is as a stepping stone to visiting El Nevado de Colima, the 14,000" tall dead volcano & its national park less than an hour away.

Outside of major Mexican cities it's pretty uncommon to find restaurants focused on healthy eating which specifically cater to a vegan diet. Yet here in Ciudad Guzmán, Saborini (formerly Youhealthy) is doing just that.

Prominently featured inside are the certificates from nutritional studies at the University of Guadalajara by the founder & owner. It's not a purely vegan place, which understanding the context is not surprising at all, but their vegan menu is colorful, diverse, and delicious.

In addition to the stuffed avocado, vegetable soup, and potato cakes, we also ordered 2 vegan hamburgers to take with us up the mountain. Everything was fresh and of high quality, this is definitely the spot anybody on a plant diet visiting town will want to stop by!

Cozy restaurant with lots of options

We came here a few days ago for lunch. Cozy restaurant with a huge menu, ranging from seafood over meat to vegan options. They have breakfast and fruit juices as well.

We had veg soup & 2 tostadas con chile de uña (tipical regional snack) for starters and for main course Coliflor-potato Hamburger /w salad & Avocado stuffed with garbanzos & tomatoes /w red rice and salad.
Our lunch was accompanied with agua del dia (Horchata) which we could order with or without sugar.

I recommend Saborini if you are looking for a healthy place to have mexican-fusion breakfast or lunch, wheather with meat or veggie, you will find something. Food was tasty and beautifully garnished, service was great.
Price was average - around 200 Pesos.

Great

Pros: Vegan options, excellent, healthy food
