At Last Excellent Vegan Food on Madeira - Edit
After 8 days on Madeira we were very hungry vegans - our only option for eating out anywhere on the island appeared to be chips and bland, tasteless salad. The Sabor da India was our saviour - after a 4 hour run in the mountains we were ravenous and they were brilliant. They guided us to vegan options on their excellent menu and steered us away from anything non vegan. The food was SO good and they really are all round lovely people. Tomorrow is our last night in Funchal and no prizes for guessing where we will be having dinner! I would definitely give 5 stars but Happy Cow won't let me - actually I'd give 6 stars possibly more.

We really liked this restaurant with tasty food and friendly staff. It´s not easy to find vegan food on restaurants on Madeira but this is one.
