I absolutely love Sabor A Vida Cafe & Deli. They have so many great food choices. I keep coming back for their chilaquiles. I often get their pastries and also coffee. This place is far for me, but I can't stay away because the food is so good.

My boyfriend and I tried a sandwich and the chilaquiles. Both dishes were good, but the chilaquiles stood out. The sauce was spicy, flavorful, and well-seasoned. The food came out quickly, and the person working was friendly.

Favorite Vegan Restaurant in the Carlsbad Area - Edit
The lightning burrito is life! So so good with a Mexican hot cocoa. We are from UT and we always come here multiple times each visit. They also now have Doughside Donuts available sometimes.

Their salads are a great combination of fresh greens and veggies with homemade dressings. The coffees and smoothies are very good here. Sandwiches, wraps and desserts are also served.

Friendly staff/owner, casual, good options for a quick & healthy lunch. I had the avocado toast (with tomatoes and feta cheese), on sourdough bread, and it was delicious. My boyfriend tried a panini and it was okay but not great... the bread was served room temp, not really 'grilled' or warm. Our smoothies were pretty good. We'll be back to try some other menu items.

Some of the food items are great but not all. Chickpea sandwich is great. The lady was not friendly or helpful when trying to decide on what to get from the menu. It would have been a better experience with friendly helpful staff.

Everything I had so far was average. The panini was cold, burritos is filled with rice and almost nothing else. So it becomes very dry.

Had a vanilla latte with almond milk. Cane in a nice ceramic mug. Also had the Lightening breakfast burrito with hashbrowns, beans, 'bacon', and 'egg'. It was soooo good! Super friendly people work here as well.

My husband and I were visiting the San Diego Botanical Gardens a couple of months ago, and used Happy Cow to find a vegan restaurant for lunch afterwards. So glad we stumbled upon this little gem! My husband had the avocado toast (I worried that it would not be enough food for him, but the serving size was generous and the presentation was lovely), and I had the "Morning Glory" burrito. I mentioned to the owner (an extremely helpful, friendly, and down to earth woman whose name escapes me) that I do not like garlic, so she substituted the jalapeno cashew cream for the roasted garlic cream that is normally in the burrito. It was wonderful! This place is one of my favorite "Happy Cow" finds yet, and we will definitely be returning next time we're in the area!

Finally made it to this lovely cafe and deli. I had their Chilaquiles and my husband had the morning glory burrito. They were delicious, healthy and filling. Will be coming back for the cloud sandwich. Don’t miss this hidden gem!
