Best Ethipoian food in Melbourne

I LOVE this place. My partner and I are here all the time. They have very clearly marked veg/vegan options and the owner is lovely and can help you order and explain the process if you have never had Ethipoian before. Literally some of the tastiest food you will ever eat. Also for a cool cultural experience order the ethipoian coffee for dessert [comes with inscents and popcorn]

Pros: Food tastes amazing, Unique dining experience , Cool vibes and friendly service

Cons: Zero (IMO)

Hearty, healthy, delicious

Kind staff, plenty of vegan options, so healthy, so tasty. Best to make a reservation for dinner as it gets busy. One of the best restaurants in Brunswick St. a true gem.

Delicious vegan feast

Wonderful, tasty food. Lovely host. Lots of vegan options - we always get the vegan share plate with six different curries.

Unfortunately on one occasion our curries came out cold in the middle - it was the start of the dinner sitting so I assume they were reheating from lunch? However we have been there five or so times and that has only happened once, and we have been back since.

Overall a great experience.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Rich and flavoursome food, Large serves

Cons: Not cheap, Food came out cold once

All of the veg options can be vegan, the food is incredible, owner is a babe!

Authentic Ethiopian family run venue, all the food is gluten free the spices are amazing, owner takes the time to explain the menu and help you decide and always starts with asking if you are veggie/ vegan so you won’t get recommended anything you can’t eat! Food comes in a basket served with injera and is to share! Highly recommend

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Fun and different , Healthy and gluten free

Amazing lunch!

We visited as part of Vegan Day Out and got their special banquet meal. The food was really tasty, and so much fun to eat - there's no cutlery, just lots of dark bread and napkins. We had 6 different items - lentil and split pea curries, peanut salad, pickled veggies and a couple of others - all delicious. There was plenty to go around too!
The meal finished off with spiced tea and their own Ethiopian coffee.
Staff are very friendly too.

Pros: Loads of tasty food

Authentic Ethopian in Melbourne!

I love Ethiopian food. Wherever you are in the world, if you can find Ethiopian food you won't go hungry as a vegan. Saba's is a lovely restaurant with excellent service and a lovely cosy atmosphere. My partner and I shared veggie combo which came with three different vegetarian dishes, made with lentils, chickpeas and split peas. The bread is great for soaking up some of the spicy flavour. A three dish combo was $25 which is pretty good as dinner for two!

Pros: Staff very aware of vegan options, Good price

Cons: Watch the spice!

A vegan cultural experience

We have been here a few times and love it. Food is served to shared on the traditional ingera bread and you eat with your hands. They serve meat but have a mixed vegetation option which can be requested as fully vegan. Must try!!!!!

Pros: fresh, healthy, lots of vegan options

Cons: serves meat

Deliciously different

Super impressed with this new Ethiopian restaurant. A great variety of very well made and presented Vegan Ethiopian stews and sides available. High on the list for a return visit.
