I asked her what the minimum purchase was for takeaway. She said two dollars, but takeaway would cost an extra 30 cents; if I bought four dollars’ worth, there would be no extra charge. When I said I wanted two dollars’ worth, she kept telling me it “wasn’t worth it” and that I should buy four dollars’ worth. I was worried I couldn’t finish it, so I said I’d buy three dollars’ worth. Unexpectedly, she replied—rather brusquely—“Add seventy cents and it becomes four dollars. Buy four dollars!”
Second time
I brought my own container. I first bought a serving of rice vermicelli ($3.50), then ordered three dollars’ worth of curry. As she was scooping the curry, she said, “Seven dollars—three-fifty and three-fifty, seven dollars!”
I replied, “Three dollars plus three-fifty is six-fifty.”
But she insisted on selling me three-fifty.

Read moreI revisited today. A very nice lady served me. It seems that the sweetness referred to below is from a sauce poured on the vegetables. With no such sauce added, the vegetable dish tasted much better.
The lady advised me that as well as what was on offer today, they have a broccoli dish meaning there are 2 vegetable dishes on offer; 1 based on cabbage and 1 based on brocc. The brocc dish was sold out by the time I arrived on both occasions.
They also sell deep fried tofu if that is your thing.

This hawker stall has a small menu in which there is thankfully a mixed vegetable dish. The other dishes are more starch and/or mock meat based. The mixed veg dish tastes like it has added sugar I regret to say. A nice man named Delvin runs this place.

Cons: More veg and less fried options would be better
