Affordable + Authentic-ish

This place reminds me of the Chinese restaurants back home. It has a mid-tier premium feeling to it without being stupid expensive. The dishes are pretty decent, but I only say that because I have high expectations after being spoiled by amazing Chinese food back home. I would give it a go if you’re looking for a semi-authentic Chinese restaurant experience.

They have quite a few vegan friendly appetizers (highly recommend the sesame balls), and a whole page of “vegetarian meats”. Most are vegan.

Great for a group

Ignore the review saying they aren’t open, they moved and the address has been updated.

Ordered: Sautéed Green Beans in Garlic, Mapo Tofu, Egg Plant in Brown Sauce, and Vegetarian Orange Chicken.

Having lived in Shanghai for almost 8 years I saw many dishes I wanted to try, though I was in a group so we made the decisions together. Staff was friendly and checked on us several times to make sure we had everything we wanted and to see how everything was. The dishes arrived all at the same time and quickly enough. My friend said the vegetarian Orange Chicken was her favorite because it was unexpected to her, the coating tasted like pancakes and the tofu was firm and yet soft enough to be like a juicy piece of chicken and the sauce pulled the dish all together. Eggplant in Brown Sauce came out piping hot and it was a strong savory flavor. One of my friend’s who also lived in China for some years said that she wished the eggplant sauce was thicker and sweeter, where I myself loved the thiccness of it and was glad it wasn’t sweet. Mapo Tofu was perfect to my liking, the numbing MaLa flavor that comes from Sichuan Peppercorns was target and since this is one of my favorite flavors and I haven’t had it in a while, I would say this was my favorite dish, put it on top of some white rice and get some of the sauce on there too so it soaks it up nice. The sautéed green beans in garlic were cooked perfectly, I may try and ask them to add some Sichuan Peppercorns so I can have them how I remember them from my days in Shanghai. Good atmosphere at the restaurant, there were families out to eat, some celebrating and a couple on a date night. The restaurant was clean, including the bathrooms. We had 4 dishes for 3 people which was enough but did not leave us with leftovers (which is something I enjoy from Chinese Restaurants). I will be back again to try more of their food.

Love this place

Great food and a lot of vegan options. Each plate is prepared to order so you’re not eating noodles or other food that could have been prepared in the morning. Friendly atmosphere and nice servers

Pros: 3 pages of vegan options , Big portion sizes for an affordable price

Cons: Not a con for all, but closed on Tuesdays
