Good food. Poor customer service. - Edit
Solid food. Place only had a single waitress working. We dined, paid, and left. On the way home we realized she gave us another customers bill that was over 20 pounds higher. I reached out to the restaurant via Instagram and was completely ghosted. Paid 65 pounds for a 40 pound bill. Decent food but was disappointed in the service.

Excellent Reuben sandwich! - Edit
The Reuben sandwich was generously loaded with sauce and fillings and really yummy. The mozzarella sticks were excellent too (just make sure you don't burn your tongue!). These go really well with the hot sauce. Love the booths too!

Amazing smoothies, milkshakes and ice cream - Edit
We got the chocolate peanut butter milkshake and biscoff one they were both really good, the other one more on the sweeter side, we tried the salted caramel ones (they were amazing, the staff told us they might be too salty and something abt some complaints but imo they were PERFECT i wanna taste the salt when im getting SALTED caramel DUH) we also tried strawberry ones (my mom said they were the best she has ever had) and we also got mint choc chip ones (they were BOMB definetely my fav i havent had them in years since i became vegan and it was amazing to find the special flavor again), my lil bro got the hotdog hes not a vegan but he ate all of it so fast i didnt even have a chance to try a bite so IT MUST BE GOOD, we also had two amazing smoothies my fav is tropical crush ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS and a also suuuper delicious strawberry sunshine, no matter if u feel like drinking some sweet milkshake or a healthy smoothie u wont be starving here, on our second visit they gave us free candy which was also AMAZING

Great Vegan Butcher - Edit
Love the vegan meat counter! The Turk'y Roll with stuffing is particularly good. The Pastrami is ideal for a Reuben Sandwich.

Pretty decent vegan 'diner' food in a nice location. - Edit
I've been putting off coming here for a while due to some pretty negative feedback from within the London vegan community. From what I understand the original founders of the restaurant left on pretty poor terms and the new owners of Rudy's vegan 'chain' aren't vegan, which clearly makes you question why they'd want to get involved with such an organisation.
Read moreRegardless, I was actually pretty pleased with the food I received in terms of taste. It certainly isn't a good-looking, 'instagrammable' meal, and I was hoping that there would be some sort of 'Cheez Whiz' alternative; as all proper Philly Cheesesteaks should have (and as the menu states). The faux meat was very nice with a great texture and clearly had been marinated in some sort of flavouring to give it a more 'umami' taste.
A Philly Cheesesteak 'meal', including Chips and a Coke, came to £16.50 when you include the compulsory service charge and carbon offsetting fee. Not necessarily overpriced but you'll be able to find better value-for-money elsewhere. The girls working there were also incredibly welcoming and attentive, so I'll certainly be coming back.
Pros: Great faux-meat alternative, Attentive, welcoming staff, Decent portion sizes
Cons: Menu isn't completely accurate, Not fantastic value-for-money

Disappointing - Edit
I had the Philly cheesesteak, the ‘meat’ was tough and chewy and there wasn’t a good amount of cheese to call it a cheesesteak.
Read moreThe mac and cheese was bland and under flavoured, but it was a good portion size.
The lotus milkshake was phenomenal.
Cons: Pricey for the quality

Popped in here on the way to the arsenal with my son and we both had the hot dogs and chips. Both were world class. Expensive but top notch. If they do more gluten free options then that would be even better...

Where is my order? - Edit
Hello,
Read moreI ordered Dirty Burger/ Reuben DIY kit (4ppl) × 1 £36.00
on April 9th
I have no information that the delivery will be sent.
I have already asked via email and have not received an answer. Nothing has changed in my order status. “Your order is confirmed” has been since April 9th. I find it annoying that we don’t even get information that it takes longer and whether delivery is even possible.
(It says in my confirmation email from you: You will receive an email very soon with the date of your delivery. It will be Wed, Thurs, or Fri (depending on the order in which your order was received).) I think this information is incorrect.
Actually, I was hoping that an answer would come, since this is not the case, I’ll post it here.

A bit disappointed - Edit
I haven't been to Rudy's vegan diner for a while. I used to go to the Camden branch and always enjoyed the food. It was my first time at the Islington branch.
Read moreI don't know if the food quality has decreased or if the Islington branch is not as great as the Camden one, but I was a bit disappointed with my lunch.
The candies served with the banana split were supposed to be soft, but they were extremely dry and hard to eat. The hot dog was good but nothing exceptional. The mac'n cheese was bland.

The food was so amazing I’m so full. The ‘beef’ burgers are the most realistic thing vegan I’ve tried without the gross bloody-ness of real meat. The milkshakes, so thick and decadent and amazing.

Vegan Butchershop with options! - Edit
Ordered: Philly Cheeze Steak and Fries and a sparkling water.
Read moreStaff is friendly. I have been craving a philly lately so I was happy to come across one here in London. The steak they use is tender and the cheese, while not like a gooey sauce was good texture and went well with the steak. There were pickle chips on top which I was skeptical of at first (I love pickles on most things), but the extra flavor was a nice cut and the crisp added to the texture in each bite. The seasoned fries were nice and hot, soft on the inside and just cripsy enough on the outside and I had a side of Buffalo sauce for dipping. The decor is done up to be a 50’s style diner and soda shop and they play pop music, it is a nice friendly vibe.
I would recommend this place for sure and will stop by again if I’m in the area.

Disappointed - Edit
It has the feel of a place in trouble, or one that will be if it doesn’t pick itself up. The menu has been reduced (and is on a tatty sheet of plastic coated paper given to you when you finally get sat down). Staff are inattentive, the atmosphere seems long-gone and there is a feeling that everyone is going through the motions. Food was average, chips disappointing, drinks tasted cheap where you expect premium. It’s pretty much the standard I’d expect from a non-vegan pub offering one vegan option really.
Read morePros: Bread rolls were really lovely.
Cons: Expensive for what it is. , Bored and uninterested staff. , No wow factor in the food.

The size of the diner my be too optimistic considering how Islington is not yet a great vegan borough in terms of demand.

Diamond Dogs - Edit
Perfect pre-match Gunners grub. The Camden Hells wasn’t on so we had a couple of glasses of white wine to accompany a hearty mac’n’cheese loaded with kale and cauliflower and a dirty hot dog resting in a bed of sauerkraut, fried onions and mustard with a side of fries. A truly sensational junk food diner experience. Don’t be moody, do a Rudy.

I hate to write a bad review on a vegan restaurant but I was disappointed. The burgers weren't good and I've had better in a normal pub. The chips were so salty that none of my party could finish them. I was in a mixed group and 2 of the party had never been to a vegan restaurant before and now are reluctant to try another
