Great roti and friendly people - Edit

Great for vegetarians. Lots of food options with vegan protein

Mystery Meal - Edit

The food was already prepared and on display. Not only are the vegan options not marked, but nothing is labeled at all. My partner asked what was vegan, and the employee motioned to some of the dishes. It looked like spinach, chickpeas, eggplant, tempeh, and cabbage. My partner asked if it was spicy, but the employee said, "I'm not the cook; I only sell." He tried to order, but the employee started spooning food onto a plate without confirming. I didn't want everything, so I had to tell the employee before they did the same with my plate. It was such a huge pile of food that I would have actually preferred less. The food is reheated in a microwave. It was fine, but nothing special.

Pros: big portions

Cons: vegan options not marked, customer service, reheated food, ambience, limited seating

Great Surinam food for takeaway - Edit

This is not a cozy place to enjoy your meal. But the food is very tasty. They have a variety of vegetables. They can easily tell you which options are vegan and which are spicy.

Pros: Vegan options , Good portions, Good food

Cons: Not a place to have a meal with friends

Mix of different food cultures in one - Edit

I had never experiences Surinamese food and the risj vegetarisch plate was an interesting mix of food cultures: Indian dhal, Indonesian tempeh, maybe Chinese noodles, plus fried aubergine, cabbage and green beans. I would expect this kind of canteen food to be a bit more cheap, but sure the prices have gone up everywhere.

The roti plate has a great variety of veggies/potato/beans/tempe and is super flavorful!

Not much place to sit. More a take-out place.

If I remember correctly, the 'vegetarian' dishes (which is vegan) were like €13 and the 'vegetarian specials' €16.
