Serves meat, vegan options available. Deli and salad bar with focus on the salad, serving daily varieties which are all nut-free and vegetarian; a separate protein bar includes a vegan options like edamame and avocado. Bread is vegan sourdough. Has vegan smoothies and cookies, plant milk for tea and coffee. The deli side offers pre-packed vegan breakfast pots, fruit pots, and salads alongside a range toast with toppings including cashew butter, avocado, banana. Menu changes everyday. Re-added meat to the menu August 2021. Reported closed August 2022.

Popular for good reason - Edit
The place was really busy when we arrived for lunch so we had to wait for a table, but it was worth it. The soup of the day was amazing, and we got a make-your-own salad-bar-style Buddha bowl on the side. The waiting staff were lovely and friendly, and the food was hearty and healthy feeling.

Small and chilled a nice cafe with a few seats. Takeaway is available.
Read moreI had a mushroom stew which was delicious, came with bread and vegan spread. Could have been a tad warmer, but really enjoyable.
The salads will be eaten on my next visit, looks awesome.

Exciting and welcoming! - Edit
I love this place. It has so many exciting vegan options - filled rolls, soups, macaroni cheese, potatoes, and my favourite - the do it yourself salad bar! I want to go back and try everything, it all just looks so good. I think the only criticism I would have is that it is a little pricier. But nice for a treat!

The salad bar is amazing and good value if you bring your own container. Yummy sweet potato and homemade beans, vegan mac and cheese is banging! Small bites of tasty vegan cake for 50p. Delicious raw cakes and balls. It's good to support local businesses that care about the environment. Some of there food comes from their allotment!

Nice cafe that has a salad bar, bagels and vegan mac n cheese. It’s not cheap but the bagel I had (avocado, vegan feta) was delicious. Salad looked fab too.

Really sweet cafe with friendly staff and tasty food. Knocked a star off for price; our bill was £25 for a bagel (£10) and two baked sweet potatoes (2 x £7.50). Really tasty but I’ve never paid £10 for a bagel in my life!

Roots is an excellent place for lunch, with a bursting salad bar (most of which is vegan) and little sweet treats such as vegan carrot cake and chocolate bites.
