Great selection

Went two times to get lunch. Both the burger and the Mexican bowl were delicious. The carrot cake was amazing. Only downside was that the Burger was better on the first day.

Pros: Lots of dessert options, Great variety of meals

Cons: Brownie was too dry/crumbly for our taste

Can’t recommend highly enough

I’ve been waiting a long time to try Roots Cafe, haven’t been to South Africa since before Covid, and thus was very happy to spend some time in Ballito and eat here a few times during my stay. They have a wide menu of bigger and smaller meals as well as snacks, desserts, and drinks. I had the black rice vegetable stir fry with peanut sauce, extra chili on the side (hot!). Many different vegetables in the mix, great depth of flavor. I don’t usually get desserts but their carrot cake is amazing and I ended up getting a slice each visit. The staff are very friendly, and the environment enjoyable. The menu is nearly exclusively vegan, a few things with honey etc., but really if you’re vegan you’ll love this place, and a pleasure to support with one’s dining dollars (or rand!).😄

Pros: Delicious, wide menu , healthy ingredients , friendly staff and great atmosphere
