Pretty but bland *edit second time was better - Edit
The restaurant venue, staff, and ambience were good, we had a pleasant time being there. However, the sushi that we had seen so well-recommend was actually quite underwhelming. They were all dressed up and colourful, but the overall flavour for most of them was just “cream cheese”. Especially considering the higher-end price point.
Read moreThey could have done with more potent defining flavours, the peanut one could have had a stronger peanut flavour, the BBQ one more of the BBQ sauce, the ‘tempura’ one was not crispy by the time it reached the table, and the seaweed one a better filling than just cream cheese.
That being said, their starters were tasty and varied.
Edit: We came back a second time with a friend, and the sushi this time was delicious! Perhaps we had a bad chef last time. Bizarre how the quality was so different. Anyhow, great sushi options and very tasty. Still think the seaweed one could have a little more flavor but overall a great experience!

I was really looking forward to trying this restaurant as Japanese food is one of my favourites, and I loved that it was all vegan. The food was nice, but nothing particularly special, so I’m not sure I’d rush back. The staff, however, were excellent – really friendly and definitely a 10/10.

Overall, it was an okay experience, but I wouldn’t be in a hurry to return.

Read moreRoots & Rolls offers a fully vegan take on sushi and oriental cuisine. The menu features a wide variety of creative hosomaki and uramaki rolls, along with main dishes like ramen and pad thai. The restaurant itself is spacious, beautifully decorated, and gives off a luxurious vibe.
The food is tasty, and the ingredients are clearly of top quality. However, the portions are quite underwhelming, especially considering the high prices. After trying it, I can’t say I’d recommend it – the experience doesn’t justify the cost. It feels like you’re paying more for the location and the hype than for the actual food.
On a positive note, the service was very professional.

Roots & Rolls propone una cucina orientale completamente vegana, con un’ampia selezione di hosomaki e uramaki particolari, oltre a piatti principali come ramen e pad thai. Il locale è spazioso, arredato con gusto e dall’atmosfera lussuosa.
Il cibo è buono e gli ingredienti sicuramente di alta qualità. Tuttavia, le porzioni sono piuttosto deludenti, soprattutto rispetto ai prezzi. Dopo averlo provato, non mi sento di consigliarlo: il costo non è giustificato dall’esperienza. Si ha l’impressione di pagare più per il locale e la sua fama che per il cibo in sé.
Nota positiva: il servizio è stato molto professionale.

It Was Fine - Did Not Honor My Free Birthday Drink - Edit
The foo was decent, but I feel I've had better vegan sushi (granted, I'm from California where sushi is very common). The drink I had was good but they didn't honor the free birthday drink despite it being advertised on the website. That might be because of a language barrier though over them not honoring it as a whole.

Gute Idee aber leider wenig Geschmack - Edit
Das Interieur ist wunderschön, Personal extrem nett. Die Karaage und das Kimchi ist auch sehr lecker. Leider schmeckt das Popcorn Caulilflower nach gar nichts und auch die Sushirollen haben erstaunlich wenig Geschmack. Der Sushireis könnte besser gewürzt sein und der Quinoa hat mich auch ziemlich gestört, doch das ist wohl Geschmackssache.
