Best spot in this airport - Edit
I took the train from concourse A to Root Down in concourse C, got to-go items, and returned within 20 minutes.
Read moreThey also have hot items that have a 15 minute wait time. The tofu bahn mi was quality and I’d definitely recommend this place over the other options at DEN.

My go to at Denver Airport - Edit
I fly into Denver regularly, and Root Down has become my go-to spot for both grabbing something pre-made to go quickly when I land and sitting down for a hot meal before I fly out. I always grab the tofu bahn mi sandwich from the separate to-go counter and eat it on the shuttle bus to the rental car lot. It generally takes less than 3 minutes to get my sandwich and go. Root Down is super fast even when they’re slam packed. You may have to wait for a table, but once you have your seat you can be in and out within 20 minutes. As long as I have 30 minutes or more before boarding anywhere in terminal C, I’m not even worried about sitting down and ordering a hot meal. They always take my order practically immediately as long as I’m ready and food is out within 8 minutes after ordering. I usually get the vegan burger with sweet potato fries (just ask to not receive /don’t use the yellow dipping sauce it comes with, everything on the burger itself and the fries are all vegan by standard). Today I got the vegan breakfast burrito, which was excellent. The scrambled tofu blended really well with everything else, it kind of tastes like it has chorizo spices in it. I’m always happy here.

Restaurant Quality Chipotle - Edit
I ordered the vegan breakfast burrito. Honestly, it tastes less like a breakfast item and more like an elevated Chipotle softitas burrito. It comes with a side of potatoes too. It came out to about $17 I think, not bad for the size. #Veganuary

Best option in DIA - Edit
So grateful that this place exists in the airport. Worth a detour to Terminal C if you have time - it’s right before gate C41. Sit down or grab-and-go from the express kiosk. Multiple options on the menu are marked as V, but note that it’s “by request” - so make sure you specify vegan.
Read moreI had time on my layover, so I sat down to eat. The vegan veggie burger was pretty good and it hit the spot. It’s not just a basic veg burger - it was flavorful, crispy on the edges and came with a sweet jalapeño relish, some slaw and yummy sweet potato fries. Service was fast and efficient too, they had me on my way well on time with a full belly 🥰
Will definitely be back on my next time here. #Veganuary
Pros: Fast and efficient service at the airport ✈️
Cons: Pricey - $20 veggie burger!! But it’s good..

Yummy sweet potato waffle fries - Edit
Service was a bit iffy- some very friendly but otherwise largely ignored at the to-go counter. Very good vegan burger on pretzel bun with fries. Spicy carrot hummus meal ok, lots of hummus, crisp jicama was tasty, but the dates & olives seem oddly matched. About a 15 min wait for to- go food.

A must when traveling - Edit
We stop here every time we travel thru DIA.
Read moreThe breakfast burrito is massive and loaded with tofu scramble, Soyrizo and hash browns. Could easily be split between two people.
The veggie burger with sweet potato fries really hits the spot.
The menu clearly marks what can be made vegan and the staff are always knowledgeable on what the substitutions will be.
Fun fact: alcoholic beverages can be put in a to-go cup to have throughout the airport. Just can’t take it on the plane.

The Tofu Banh Mi at the takeout counter is vegan! - Edit
It's rare to find vegan food at airports but fortunately Root Down has it. There are vegan options in the sit down restaurant, but if you don't have much time there is a Tofu Banh Mi at the takeout counter that has vegan mayo thats delicious!

Vegan option - Edit
The menu has changed since last photo I saw on this listing, and the veggie burger is the only one that is vegan without substitution (for lunch/dinner). I didn’t much care for the burger, but it was fine. Portion was good and price not bad for the airport

Maybe the best breakfast burrito I’ve ever had, period. - Edit
Title says it all. They serve it until 12, so you can even get it for an early lunch. Sub eggs for tofu scramble and soy chirizo for the reg. It’s also gigantic, so the $18 price tag doesn’t seem that out of line.
Read moreStaff is very well versed in how to make stuff vegan. The chef even came out and double checked with me to make sure they got it right.
I’d give it five stars if I could.

Honestly had a great beet cocktail and the veggie burger was the best quality for an airport (aka a sophisticated burger with a Dr.praeger burger patty)

As good as vegan airport food gets - Edit
Good to have a place with vegan options like this in the airport. I had the ramen and it was delicious; others said the veggie burger was great as well. The carrot hummus platter was a bit lacking and very overpriced — I’d say avoid that and just get a main course

BEST vegan options in DIA - Edit
I’ve flown through Denver many times and had never come to terminal c so I previously missed this place. But let me tell you it’s worth the trip to another terminal; having tried many other places the vegan options here are much better than anything else in the airport. We had the shoyu ramen and tofu scramble, and they were both great. Many options on the menu are vegan or can be made vegan, with options clearly labeled and knowledgeable staff. Also had a deliciously foamy almond milk late. It was efficient as well which is important in the airport. I highly recommend.

Pretty breakfast but it’s very hit and miss on flavor. The food can come out weirdly fast sometimes so that tells me it’s not fresh.

Nice sit down option - Edit
Lots of veggies on the veggie burger. I really enjoyed the jalapeno relish. It was hard to tell if certain items were vegan or just vegetarian and needed adjustment.

Great airport option - Edit
I had their veggie burger (wanted a tofu bahn mi but they were out of tofu!). It was tasty (although, if you don’t like sweet and spicy… Ask for them to leave off the sweet jalapeño relish). Service was quick and friendly.

Lightning fast service, and I always appreciate when the menu clearly labels what items are vegan-friendly (NOTE: vegan *by request* -- be sure to specify). The veggie burger has great flavor, the slaw added crunch and served on a pretzel bun with guac... And last but certainly not least the sweet potato waffle fries were *chef's kiss*

Didn’t have time to go into the restaurant so just grabbed vegan tofu Bahn mi sandwiches from the grab and go portion of the restaurant. Sandwiches weren’t anything to write home about but were pretty good and satisfying before hopping on a flight. Grateful they had them!

I arrived at the Denver airport hunnnngry and was glad to see places with vegan options in the airport on Happy Cow. The veggie burger was pricy and flavorful. It wasn't just a Boca burger with a sad piece of lettuce and tomato.
