Often barely looks open. Mostly does catering for functions and homes, but the food is therefore great. Home style Indian food and super clean kitchens. Best option is Thali or just tell them what you like. They will bring out whatever the kitchen is making.
We went there today and didn't know that they only accept cash payments. Unfortunately, all the atms nearby were not working. The owner was incredibly nice and gave us the food anyway and told us that we could just pay on the following day.
The portions were huge and the taste was excellent. They prepared a vegan meal fo me with no hesitation.
We got rice, different curries and bread, all for a really competitive price.
We'll definitely come back!
It's worth the trip out East to try this underrated Gujarati restaurant. The menu is minimal, with the biggest draw being the thali (which changes daily). The dishes are different from those I've experienced in any other Indian restaurant, with dishes like sweetcorn and patra leaf curry. I have also been when they've made dhokla with vegan yoghurt (although I don't know if this is standard). The restaurant has been in business for 45 years, so they must be doing something right! I eat out regularly and this is a solid favourite. Easily one of my favourite spots for a meal in London.
No frills restaurant that serves excellent and cheap curries. We ordered the thali and was told it was vegan. Came with a bowl of rice, 3 bowls of curry and a stack of chapattis all for £5.

Ronak is a bizzare place. It's been there for 40 odd years and judging by the exterior has seen more prosperous times. We found the service to be super friendly but rather scatty. They currently have no menu "we're getting round to doing a new one"and it would seem most people are happy to get one of the two set meal options (see photos) which are simple and cheap Thali's. We pushed their limits by asking for nightshade free, sugar free and vegan options which they almost managed. If we'd stuck to vegan only we'd have had a good simple meal for £5.
They promise to soon have a website and welcome pre-orders . I will probably return after they have emailed me their new menu so I can try some of the other food they offer but at present keep hidden!!
