Opened late-2014 this bistro serves vegan and raw-vegan dishes (from 8pm) inspired by local and international cuisines. Diners eat in the company of six cats who wander around the tables. Cozy atmosphere. Reservations are required for dinner, usually 5+ days in advance. Kitchen is open 10AM-11:30AM (breakfast) / 1PM-2:30PM (lunch) / 4PM-6:30PM (afternoon snack) / 8PM-10:30PM (dinner). Open Tue-Sun 10:00-11:30, 13:00-14:30, 16:00-18:30, 20:00-22:30. Closed Mon.

Great food, cute cats - Edit
Romeow was by far the best cat cafe we have ever been to, both in relation to the food and the care for the cats. The place is tastefully decorated, the cats are relaxed and several groups of locals seemed to genuinely to come just for the food.

Great vegan restaurant in Rome, the best I’ve tried so far.
Read moreIt’s a bit pricey for the portion size, although Rome is a bit expensive in general.
We didn’t know that they work on reservations only but they accommodated us outside in the terrace and let us in once they had space. The service was really good, very nice staff.
The food was fantastic, very tasty and creative. 100% vegan. Desserts were amazing! The chocolate mousse cake was out of this world.
If you seat inside, you better like cats because there are around 8 super cute cats, hopefully all rescued. Clients are not allowed to pet the cats, which I think is great.
Overall, highly recommended. We’ll definitely go back next time.

Ate there tonight, food was really great! Unfortunately, despite having a reservation we were forced to sit in the loft space and eat a really lovely meal over what amounted to a coffee table. Our Italian neighbors were eating off plates in their laps, I felt bad for them too. We asked to sit at one of the empty tables but were denied… don’t know how the system works. Anyway, make a reservation and ask for a table and you’ll have an incredible experience I’m sure. Would definitely return if I were sticking around Rome.

We had only four nights in Rome and I was excited to come here - we are vegan and love cats!
Read moreI made a reservation and showed up exactly on time. We were seated upstairs at what was essentially a coffee table that we had to lean over (was at lap height). I asked to be sat at a regular table since it was a dinner reservation and was told no, that they were full, despite being half empty at that moment. I kind of wanted to leave but it was late and we had already made these plans.
The food was all very good but way more expensive than other places with great food in Rome. Was not worth the price. The wine glasses were also tiny. I didn’t enjoy having to lean over a very low table to eat messy pasta. It ruined an otherwise nice meal.
The cats were of course lovely, but I wouldn’t come back just for that, sadly.

Read moreWe understand that it can be frustrating not being able to chose where to sit, however there is a system in place that allows our guests to pick the floor they prefer.
When booking (depending of course on what is left available on the booking system) you can choose whether to eat on the main floor, the outdoor space or the first floor. The sitting aera was chosen by yourself at the booking.
Now, I appreciate that maybe you didn’t know how the first floor is and wanted to change area after your arrival, but at that stage we can’t always swap tables.
Like yourself other guests have booked a certain area and we have to respect that. We try our best to accommodate everyone but that isn’t always possible.
I can reassure you that if we had an empty table we would have moved you right away and very happily - we want our guests to have a good time (so to avoid having to receive those feedback too), what you might have thought was an empty table in reality was a table already booked for someone else at a different time.
I just wanted to clarify this so to give you an insight into our booking system.

While that makes some sense, as you said, if someone hasn’t visited and doesn’t know outright that they’d be sitting at a coffee table for dinner, that’s a problem. It should be mentioned when booking.

Hours vary on different websites, call ahead! - Edit
We walked 40 minutes to get lunch here and arrived at 11:50am (happy cow says they're open). Sign on their door said lunch hours are 10-11:45 and then they open again at 4pm. Different websites have slightly different hours. So disappointed we just missed them and this was our last chance to eat there. Call ahead to verify!

Nicest restaurant owner of our entire trip - Edit
We had an amazing time at the restaurant! Very good and relaxing atmosphere, comfortable and spacious seating space. The food was excellent, we got two kombuchas, we received a delicious complementary appetizer (artisanal crackers with cheese) and purchased two maki tacos (this especially was my favourite!) a pesto pasta, and a seaweed spaghetti. For dessert we got a cheesecake, which was light and airy and balanced by a berry confit. All the food was absolutely delicious!

Last but not least, the owner was the nicest person! My brother and I were trying to head to our hotel and attempted to book a taxi or an Uber for a while but weren’t able to find any in the area. Not only did they let us stay for longer to try and continue to book our ride the owner and staff offered to help us! They tried for 10 minutes to call various taxi companies for us until I finally managed to book an Uber.
11/10 would recommend this restaurant for the food, the cats, and the truly fantastic staff!

I’ve been so excited to try Romeow ever since booking our trip to Rome, and finally I had the chance to try it out! We had a perfect evening with amazing food and cute cats! The place is a bit pricey compared to other places, but it was so worth it. It’s not just dinner, but also an experience! We would HIGHLY recommend their tiramisu, as this is the best vegan one we’ve had in Rome so far!

Never been to a restaurant where cats roam around so had to give this a try, especially since entirely vegan. I had reservations at 8 which is when it opened so lingered around outside for a few moments with other patrons. I was seated upstairs on a couch.
Read moreTo start, I was given a complimentary amuse bouche which was a nice touch. For my appetizer I ordered the Housemade almond ricotta. The tomatoes they came with were fresh and some of the best tasting tomato’s I’ve had. For my main I went with the Gragano spaghettone. It tasted great. Lastly, it was time I finally ordered tiramisu. Of course that was good as well.

Cats were awesome and the food was awesome. For dinner the ravioli and pesto pasta were yummy, as were the white cake and mousse cake. We sat upstairs on the couches but the cats stayed downstairs. I would reserve a table for dinner next time, but it was still fun.

I went for "tea time" and they do it with a "mood menu", which means you are not free to combine foods and drink. For instance, I wanted a hot beverage and a muffin, but that was a "baby menu", so I was not allowed to have it (?). I ended up having a chocolate mousse cake and a hazelnut hot chocolate. Both quite good. The cats were not very sociable, but that's to be expected, they are cats after all.

My favorite in Rome - Edit
I was so happy with the food! They brought out a tasty “amuse-bouche” on the house. It was a perfect bite sized morsel. Then we got the almond ricotta with focaccia appetizer, so tasty! The ricotta was perfect. For dinner I got the seitan tuna, I was surprised how much it actually tasted like tuna. Kind of a canned tuna taste, which seems really appropriate for a cat bistro 😹 my husband got the stuffed shells because he loves ricotta and loved the dish. He almost ordered more! Then we shared tiramisu which I recommend trying. I love tiramisu. We got one visit by a big boy named Baci. He was very sweet. The cost is a little high, but totally worth the food and the atmosphere and to help pay for the cats’ needs (food, care, etc)

As a cat lover and vegan foodie, this was almost too good to be true!!! There were 4 cats when we visited for dinner. They are all very sweet and tolerate petting, but do not typically approach guests. But so cute and great entertainment! The food was delicious. We loved everything we tried and amazing it is all vegan. Could not be happier and don’t miss out when you visit Rome!

First class food, highest quality, best vegan restaurant food I’ve had in the world. Being vegan chefs we have high expectations and Romeow’s exceeded it with incredibly delicious inspiring next level dishes on their dinner menu. We had 5 dishes and from the taste and quality know that everything will be to the same standard. The pricing reflects the high quality of the food. If you’re a budget traveler, save a few extra euros and treat yourself, you will not regret it. The set menu of 6 courses is 60euros at time of writing.

Staff wonderful, pancakes amazing and cats the best - Edit
What more can you wish for? We tried the breakfast pancakes with maple syrup and the raw cake of the day (peanut butter). Also had a nice kombucha and a fresh juice with carrot, pineapple, apple & ginger. The price you pay is high but it’s really instead of paying “entrance” like most other cat cafés around the world. You have to buy at least one drink and something to eat per person.
