Í ordered via uber eats and the menu there seems to be slightly smaller and no desserts. The prego sandwich (which was buy one get one free 🤷♀️ ), the sauce and coleslaw it came with were delicious, plus a side of fries. Keen to try their gatsby and Caesar salad.

The reviews are not wrong. The food here is INSANE. Huge portions, very meaty, incredibly flavoured 😍 I got one of the platters so I could try a bit of everything and honestly, every item on my plate was delicious. The setting is very casual though, btw, small and kind of diner style.

This is some of the most impressive "mock meat" I've ever had. It was all also very well spiced. Consistency was great. Mushroom based.

Missed the place at first as it is tucked away at the end of a few shops on the lower level. Ordered a steak and roast veg (as well as a side dish) and was not disappointed. The food was plentiful and the steak was amazing. All gluten free too; which is great for me

Every dish at Romeo and Vero was outstanding – full of flavour, perfectly seasoned, and so incredibly realistic it was almost scary. From vegan steak to chicken drumsticks and sausages, the craftsmanship was unbelievable. My personal favourites were the steak and calamari. The staff were warm and attentive, making the whole experience truly perfect – a must-visit in Cape Town!

First visit:
We ordered 2 different plates and god not what we have ordered.
We told the waitress that there happened a mistake. She told us that this is the only food which is left over and next time we have to tell her by reservation what we want.
The food was good but really not what we ordered. The plates always had 3 different types of vegan meat. Unfortunately we got both the same and only 2 different types of vegan meat. Nobody told us that before- not before we ordered and not during the kitchen was making the food. Also not when we got the food.
The food was tasty so we decided to give the restaurant and 2nd chance. It was more worse than the first time.
I chattet with the restaurant via whatsapp before we decided to go to restaurant again. We asked if plate x and y is available and the restaurant told us "yes, you can come". 15 minutes later we arrived and ordered our plates.
We got the plates and they were again not what we ordered in the menu. We asked the waitress what happend. She told us that this is the only food what is on the bbq. We told here that we have chatted via Whatsapp before we went there. She told us, that it was not her, it was her boss.. Okay, but why again?
When you think it cant get any worse: it can. We get served the very pricey food very cold and partly still frozen.
Disastrous experience. It's a shame I have to give such a bad review to a vegan restaurant. We tried to talk to the waitress, but they didn't seem to understand.
I have to give 2 stars because of the vegan restaurant. Actually it just deserves only 1 star!

The portion size was so much, that I would recommend to share one platter.

The fufu cassava (yams root, which tasted a bit like mashed potatoes) was good, too! The seasonings and spices are great.
Definitely a good experience for meat-loving vegans.

We picked up some vegan "meat" from this amazing vegan butchery at the Vegan Goods Market in Cape Town - and we absolutely loved it! Every item we tried was packed with flavor and really well made. We bought a few different products and I’m so excited to try them all. Can’t wait to visit their restaurant soon and explore more of what they offer!

A nice alternative to just burgers or falafel. They have a variety of flavours of meat alternatives in a BBQ style. Share a platter (or have one each like we did). Kind staff, but venue is more like a cafe. Could do with some interior improvements.

The food was outstanding and the service was very good. We had a vegan braai and stew, served with the fluffiest bread and tasty fries. The hot sauce that came with the braai was chef's kiss 💋.

The food was absolutely delicious and the portion sizes were large. We ordered the kababs as a starter and the Carnivore and Platter Braai as the main courses. It was very affordable as well. I'm giving 3 stars due to the customer service!
Read moreThe waitress that we had was very unprofessional and made us feel very uncomfortable. I understand tipping culture varies from country to country and there are cultural differences, however things felt very sketch and uncomfortable - The waitress kept aggressively ushing us to give a cash tip instead of using our card, asked us to tip on Cashapp, to get cash at a nearby store or ATM (it was night time and dark outside), and even gave our money to another staff member who walked somewhere nearby and got cash when we asked her not to.
This was just my experience with this particular waitress on this particular day (in January 2025). The food was handsdown amazing though.

Thanks to this place we were able to expenrience South African dishes in vegan. The meat looked and tasted sooo real, we had to make sure twice that this place was completely vegan. The benches weren’t really comfortable and I wouldn’t recommend the cookies but the meat dishes were amazing! 😊
