Blissful - Edit
Loved this cosy authentic vegetarian cafe. Gorgeous food and really good coffee, and the hot chocolate with marshmallows and squirty cream was wonderful. I've had the jackfruit burrito, a healthy bowl, and chips. Chilled and artistic vibe from the music and art. Hoping to return.

Nice spot with outdoor sitting right next to the river. - Edit
I had the buddha bowl which was nice, although I was a bit surprised to find a mix of hot and cold items together. Next time I'd try one of the many other options, their breakfasts look appealing. Nice coffee.

It was ok. - Edit
The food was delicious.
Read moreWe were a little confused about what we were supposed to do on arrival. The cafe was very noisy and outside had a dog that kept making a high pitched squeel. (Not your fault.)
We sat down inside in the end and were served.
After our main courses, we wanted cake but we didn't know if we needed to wait for a server or if we needed to go up. We eventually went up and asked what the cakes were but once we found out, the server just walked away and we decided to call it a day.
We're both autistic and found the cafe and whole experience quite overwhelming, especially the blenders. We would return, but definitely sit outside.
Pros: Good vegan options , Tasty food
Cons: Too noisy, Not clear what the process was

Great Cafe Down By The Riverside - Edit
This was our first visit to the Riverside Cafe, located more-or-less in the heart of the lively and interesting town of Newcastle Emlyn. As we walked through the door on this rainy lunchtime and saw some of the items on offer, I knew we were going to enjoy our meal and want to come back again. We were given a friendly greeting by Karuna, and found ourselves a cosy table by one of the windows. This place is light and airy, beautifully decorated, with a gallery of gorgeous paintings by a local artist (Varshana). There is an extensive menu with a wide variety of vegan options. The salads looked so good, so I opted for the salad bowl with avocado, some ginger and lemon tea, and several different cakes for dessert (some 'rocky road' and carrot cake to eat in, and a couple of others to take home). The atmosphere in the cafe is really congenial, and the place was fairly busy, but not too busy, so we felt comfortable taking our time. We were there for around three hours, chatting with other patrons, while enjoying our food. There's parking outside, and it's right by the river, next to an impressive and picturesque 18th Century stone bridge. Overall this was the great experience we were hoping it would be, and we will certainly be returning.

Looks like the Health Food shop has closed down which is a shame but so glad the cafe is going and appears to be thriving.

Excellent vegan meal - Edit
I was encouraged to visit the Riverside Café when wanting to eat out by a committed vegan from England. My slight hesitation was wondering how this café would compare with the vegan cafes in the urban areas of England.
Read moreI need not have worried. The standard was excellent, the vegan meals clearly indicated, the staff attentive and pleasant (with at least one Welsh speaker.) I chose a vegan curry, the two children chose other vegan meals as did my friend. All were enthusiastic.
I was delighted to have discovered the Riverside Café (and the nearby Health food shop.) We were told that well behaved dogs were welcome. An attraction for us in the future and, I expect, for many people on holiday.
Pros: Excellent vegan food; vegetarian options available, Friendly attentive staff., Easy to book and reserved table displayed.
