Amazing cheese shop! - Edit
The prepared foods are so delicious! The grilled cheese is everything grilled cheese should be - gooey, hot, super unhealthy. I love it! The selection of cheese and meats are great. Love going here.

A great place to stock up on specialty items, as others have said. They also have good, hearty lunch items. My only complaint, though I know it’s not their fault, is how expensive many items are

Small but mighty - Edit
Quaint little vegan grocer/cafe with a great selection of vegan cheese options. Some cheeses were made in-house! They also sold vegan ravioli! My friend and I split a sandwich for $11. I'm glad we did because the portion was HUGE! Definitely worth the money for a hearty & nutritious two-meal worthy sandwich.

Great place to stock up on hard to find vegan food - Edit
Riverdel is pretty rad. I have only tried their sandwiches twice, but my main reason for visiting is for their vegan snacks and cheeses! This place stocks my absolute favorite vegan cheese, Cheezehound! They also stock Vegan Treats and sweets from local vegan bakers. They also seem to be the only place nowadays that have those delicious Go Max Go bars... I can't seem to find them anywhere else anymore.
Read moreBasically, Riverdel is my vegan junk food go to. My only complaints are that they run out of products fast (I have come here twice before 11am for a "ham" & "cheese" croissant, and both times they were sold out), and also, I sort of wish the staff was a bit friendlier. They're not unfriendly, but you don't really get a welcoming vibe when walking-in.
Overall, definitely recommend if you're in the mood for some vegan deli-like goods!

Riverdel stocks such a wide variety of plant-based condiments, cheeses, sauces, and other pantry items that it’s actually fun to come in and see just how creative the suppliers have gotten. Love this place! Plus the deli is amazing!

Good, not great - Edit
I love lil vegan grocery stores and I loveeeee that this is near my apt.. and the sandwiches were good, but They weren’t $10 good. I got a special which was delish but my boyfriend got the salami sandwich which they said was their most popular. It had one slice of cheese and 2 slices of “meat”... idk what the $10 was paying for.. perhaps the bread cuz that part was very good. I just think this place can up its sandwiches. I’m comparing of course to orchard grocer since it’s the same type of place.. but at least orchard gives you a SANDWICH not basically bread. I hope they see this and give a lil more! But as far as grocery selection, they are on point for the specialty sector

Creamy Cheese Utopia - Edit
Grilled cheese? Splendid. Though it took a bit longer to cook, it was worth the wait. Additionally, the sharp cheddar cheese and the Camembert we bought from the fridge were amazing. After throwing the camembert in the oven, I knew they had perfected the art of vegan cheese making.

Amazing sandwiches - Edit
I am lucky to have just moved a block away from this cute little establishment but it is worth a trip even if you are not nearby. One of a number of all vegan places in Crown Heights. I am a vegan who does not necessarily seek out cheese, but was really impressed by the sandwich menu. I had the alpine sausage role and my (non-vegan) wife had the BLT C. Both sandwiches used just enough vegan cheese to provide a really nice flavor but not overpower the other flavors. I plan to return soon.

OMG! My cheese heaven in Brooklyn! - Edit
This place is really my favorite in NYC. I'm a (vegan) cheese addict and this place is like heaven. They do their own cheese and sell many more craft brands of vegan cheese. You can buy to take away and/or eat them in the shop that has a nice menu. I tried the cheese and faux-meat platter (a must!), one cheese from their shop (delicious) and the impossible burger. Their menu is nice and they also have beautiful cakes and sweet items. The owners are very kind and helpful, prices are fair and the shop is pleasant, despite it's small. It's convenient to go there while visiting Brooklyn museum or the botanical garden. I'm really looking forward to go there again!

wow. - Edit
So many cheezes! Such a little store. Lots of options here. I bought a thing of french bread and some cheezehound fig cheeze. It was expensive, but oh so good. I got a brazil nut milk from here that wasn't supposed to expire for a few days, but it smelled strongly like it had spoiled (a farty smell) so I was disappointed to pay so much for spoiled nut milk. I really enjoyed my cheezehound cheeze. I was trying to find some food for my flight (walked to this store) and I got there around 10:20. They said that they wouldn't start making sandwiches until 10:30 and, well, I had a plane to catch and they wouldn't budge. That was annoying.

I love this place - Edit
A local vegan "cheese" shop! They carry my favorite Miyoko cheeses, but better yet are their house made "goat cheese" rolled in cracked black pepper or herbs. I love their sandwiches too. Barely seating though, so best to order to go. More of a general local grocery store with deli counter for vegans. Super friendly.

I Love This Place! - Edit
I love this vegan cheese shop! I had found no where in the USA which sells all of the best vegan artisan cheeses in the USA until now. Riverdel is a beautiful small store with loads of superb products. I had a vegan cheese sample platter (wow!!!) with some of the most delicious vegan cheese I have ever tasted, and also couldn't resist ordering their vegan meatballs which are also incredible.

Some of the best cheeses ever! - Edit
The cheese that Riverdel makes is some of the best vegan cheese I have had hands down. They have a lot of other cheeses here and some of them are great too and they always let you try everything out so check out what you might want and then get it. Also the grilled cheese sandwiches are amazing. Great place to get a good lunch and transform your non vegan friends into believers. Also not as expensive as some other reviewer claims. Cheese from anywhere can cost $6-9 a block. Its hand made nut cheese! Not kraft.
