They had many vegan options clearly marked. They also had 3 vegan wines and a dessert. I had a pizza with pesto and ricotta which was very tasty. I would recommend this place if you are in Pisa.

Real italian cuisine for vegans - Edit
We absolutely loved Ristoro Dantesca. Although it's a traditional Italian restaurant, they’ve done a fantastic job adapting some classic Italian dishes to vegan cuisine. The menu includes very original and tasty vegan options, which we truly appreciated.

The team fully understands the concept of veganism, and they even serve vegan wines.
At the end of our meal, we had the chance to chat a bit with the owner, Matteo, who is vegan himself. He told us about his dream of one day turning the restaurant into a fully vegan place. We sincerely hope he achieves that dream in the future. It’s an honour to support businesses like his, moving in that direction with such passion and commitment.
Don’t miss the vegan spaghetti alle vongole and the Nutella pannacotta — both are absolutely amazing!

+ Bellissimo arredamento esterno con tovaglie rosa e fiori sul tavolo, esteticamente gradevole e pulito.
+ Tantissime opzioni vegane: pizza con formaggio vegano, tiramisù vegano, pasta, dessert, lasagne e molto altro. C'è molto tra cui scegliere, ed è delizioso!
+ Ampia selezione di bevande analcoliche e cocktail (ad esempio, Hugo, Mohito), che apprezzo sempre nei ristoranti :)
Torneremo sicuramente!

Didn’t see the vegan specials - Edit
I was so excited to go here but the vegan options on their main menu were very limited & kind of odd (no vegan pasta dish? But a sushi). I ordered a pizza with “Gorgonzola” & “sausage” and it wasn’t very good. Then we left to pay and saw about 3-4 other vegan options as specials on their chalkboard, including pastas & a lasagna I believe. I would give it another try for the specials!

I ordered the vegan ‘clam’ pasta which was nice but a bit bland and boring. My boyfriend ordered a meat pizza which he said was very oily, I don’t know if this would be the case for the vegan pizza’s but maybe something to consider.

Please bear in mind that I rate places differently when abroad, if this was in London I would probably give it a 1.

The best vegan food I've had in Italy - Edit
We spent a whole week in northern Italy and this restaurant had by far the best vegan Italian food. The vegan lasagna and tiramisu were absolutely amazing. They also had vegan pizza, sushi and pasta. The staff were really friendly too. It's just so nice to find a place that does vegan versions of classic Italian dishes outside of pizza without cheese and spaghetti pomodoro. And to be able to eat tiramisu!

Abbiamo provato la pizza vegana, con salsiccia e gorgonzola veg, che dire ingredienti di prima qualità, anche il pomodoro buonissimo!Finalmente una pizza vegana golosa come la cercavo, che non fosse la solita pizza con verdura. Forse c'è da perfezionare tecnicamente l'impasto, ci è piaciuta tantissimo. Anche il tiramisù vegano ottimo. Torneremo per provare gli altri piatti vegani!

We enjoyed our dinner at this restaurant with Tuscanese and vegan options. We ate the non-clam spaghetti with shelled pistachios and seaweed which was nice and the vegan primavera pizza with eggplant and vegan cheese (similar to mozzarella called stracciatella).
Read moreThey also offer vegan sushi, roasted potatoes, and vegan tiramisu (we were too full to try it). The staff was friendly especially when we tried to communicate in Italian. The covered terrace had electric heating which I didn’t mind on a rainy day.
They play some groovy jazz music on a speaker which was nice, a bit too energic for our mood.😉But still a nice and cozy addition to the atmosphere!

Creative vegan options in a traditional restaurant - Edit
I went to Ristoro Dantesca on a Saturday evening at 6:30pm for an early dinner. It is a traditional Tuscan restaurant in a nice chilled-out piazza, with a sign outside says that it has vegan options. I booked a table through their Google listing, but there was plenty of space at that time, so it wasn't required. When we were seated, the propriator asked if we were vegan or had any allergies. On confirming that I was vegan, a vegan specials board was brought out, which I enjoyed.

I got the non-clam spaghetti, which was spaghetti with seaweed, seitan pieces, and pistachios cooked in the shell. I thought that this was a really creative take on a vegan clam dish, and I enjoyed de-shelling the pistachios, which were really tasty. For dessert I got a soya cappucino and a panna cotta with vegan nutella.
Overall it was a good experience with nice food, the staff were lovely, I would recommend especially for a mixed group. When we were paying the bill, the propriator asked if I was vegan, stating that he was too.

Visited on a last minute decision on where to go for dinner, and definitely wouldn’t regret it. I had the garlic basil pasta which came with some vegan cheese and some lovely brown bread. It was delicious! I also ordered a vegan Tiramisu, oh my goodness, I don’t like coffee, and I had never tried tiramisu before, and the lovely waitress informed me that it was all homemade, so I had even more reason to order it. I would never regret it, it was delicious! It’s a must order here. Fantastic food and despite the rainy, wet weather. It was very much worth it.

This is a lovely place with a variety of different vegan options. Very nice service too. They even indicate which wines are vegan. The aperitivo plate for two was plentiful with a rich selection of aromatic vegan cheese. I also like the jazz music they play in the background. The only downside is it's pretty expensive.

Vegan friendly spot with a nice atmosphere - Edit
This restaurant has a nice atmosphere and it's very vegan friendly. I think the owner (or one of the owners) is vegan. From the moment you arrive, they ask if you're vegan or vegetarian and clearly explain the options available. The menu is well marked, including both vegan and vegetarian dishes, as well as vegan wine selections. They offer a vegan wine plate, several mains, pizzas, some daily options and two desserts. I visited this spot twice. I loved some of the dishes and others not so much, but my overall experience was still great. My only complaint would be that it is a bit expensive.
