Mixed Bag

This serene coffee shop offers outstanding coffee but a disappointing vegan option.

Vintage Cartoons populate the packaging and interior creating a modern hipster coffee house feel. The wood tables inhabited by people from all walks of life--laptop workers, families, couples--add to the atmosphere.

Rise Up delivers a solid cup of coffee. They don't oversaturate the coffee with too much milk, allowing the taste of their roasted beans to burst through. I ordered the Happy Cow breakfast burrito. First, it was tiny. Second, it was soggy. The food experience was really bleak.

Rise Up is a great cafe if you need a morning pick-up for a walk in Rehoboth. Come for the coffee but leave the food.

Pros: Coffee

Cons: Vegan Food

Coffee Shop with a Modern Flair

I was here recently with my grandparents as it is one of the few places that is not overtly vegetarian/vegan but has the options for me as well as my sister that wouldn't scare off the grandparents. The paint job is bold black and white and is in an old convenience store building meaning it has quite a bit of parking that is not metered and very easy to spot. My grandparents did not like the vibe as well as the "whoever" sign on the bathroom doors but being 85 yo they are not the target demographic, the barista was happy to walk them through the options of coffee, hot chocolate, and tea which were available. My grandmother got a hot chocolate and said it was good. I ordered the coffee with one of the vegan milks which was great, I highly recommend their espresso blend with vegan milk. Unfortunately we came too late and the items in the grab and go had been sold but we asked the barista and she said they had 2 different vegan options that day, it was 7pm so I can't fault them for that.

Update 03/19/2023
I went here for my birthday, the place was busy on a Sunday in the off season, we left my mom in the car across the street, there was no parking. I ordered a Tito made to be vegan, my parents got a normal breakfast burrito. We all liked our meals.

Hmmm middle of the road

First of all, this place can get super busy so if you can order ahead I would highly recommend it. The happy cow burrito is the ticket, but last time I was there they ran out of potatoes so it was a little too much soggy tofu in a falling apart wrap going on. Good coffee and the paper straws are cute giving a photogenic vibe. I really appreciate the vegan options - burrito and avocado toast, but overall experience here is not my fave and for the price I wish it was better.

Pros: Vegan burrito

Cons: Super busy to the max, Service is not the best it pains me to say

Happy cow burrito 😉

Coffee shop by day, bar at night.

Notes:
- The happy cow burrito is a MUST TRY (Deep Fried Potatoes, Marinated Tofu, Pico de Gallo & Avocado). It can get a little messy, but the flavors are just spot on. Very similar taste to a scrambled egg without the gross egg aftertaste
- Another good vegan option: avocado toast
- Obviously Rise Up is known for their coffee. Their espresso drinks were good, and importantly for me, there were several drip coffees to choose from and oat milk available

Hopefully they add more vegan options to their menu, especially pastries. But all their vegan food was A .

The bar at night is very cute and uses Rise Up coffee beans for the espresso martini.

Savory (or sweet) breakfast option

We followed the reviews from HappyCow to this place and enjoyed the Happy Cow breakfast burrito. It was very tasty, and yes, it is messy, but we didn't care. My daughter got the açaí bowl without the honey and it was also very good. There is lots of outdoor seating which is a plus during COVID. I enjoyed a decaf coffee with oat milk.

Pros: Lots of outdoor seating, Family Friendly, Compostable utensils

Cons: No vegan cream cheese

Best vegan breakfast option

I scoured so many menus in the area for breakfast options and the Happy Cow burrito from Rise Up really was the best I could find. The coffee was great too and they have nice indoor and outdoor seating.

best coffee in rehoboth

Rise Up has really good lattes and they don’t charge extra for almond or oat milk, which is a win. I haven’t tried their food yet but they have several vegan options, including a tofu scramble breakfast burrito and an acai bowl.

Pros: no additional charge for non-dairy milk, vegan food options , has parking

Yum!

I love this place! Super addition to the Rehoboth Beach breakfast scene—finally a delicious and satisfying vegan breakfast burrito! It is filled with tofu scramble, avocado, roasted potatoes, and a great tomatillo salsa.

Pros: Best vegan breakfast options in RB, Outdoor space

Messy but Delicious Burrito

The happy cow was the best vegan breakfast I've had in a long time! It was soooo yummy but also very messy. Mine fell apart but it was worth the extra work to eat it with my fingers. They weren't open for dine in so I had to eat outside and didn't have utensils. Highly recommend it! But, you might want to request utensils;)

Pros: Delicious Breakfast, Cute Place

Cons: No Dine In Currently

Solid breakfast and coffee option

Pretty good. It gets crowded. Even in late December, during the off-season, it was busy during the mid to late morning rush.

Online ordering is available if you plan ahead a bit. It takes 30 minutes after you place your online order for it to be ready, but if that works for you, it’s easy to customize your drink and food orders using their online system.

Food to order is available until 3pm. I had the happy cow burrito, and it was pretty good, but I’d recommend getting extra salsa verde to go with it (it comes with one small serving on the side).

Some outdoor seating.

Pros: Online ordering , Breakfast food

Cons: Gets busy

It’s okay...

They didn’t listen to my specific needs, and put whipped cream on it as well as honey on my açaí bowl. I was quite disappointed by that. But if you order ahead online I’m sure the experience would’ve been better.

Love the breakfast burrito

They have a breakfast burrito called the happy cow. It’s vegan and it’s delicious. They have a variety of hot sauces to choose from and I usually get it with a fresh fruit cup. They always pick the best fruit too, perfectly ripe. They don’t have soymilk as an option for lattes but have a few other non-dairy milk options.

Pros: Hot sauce!, Cool atmosphere , Parking

Cons: Pricey, Limited vegan options
